Samson & Gert is a Flemish children's television series produced by Studio 100, which debuted in 1990. However, Samson and Gert actually debuted as a presenter duo around Christmas 1989. No new episodes have been filmed since 2005 (except for two special episodes), but the series is still broadcast regularly on Ketnet. The program revolves around a man named Gert who, together with his talking dog (Samson), regularly receives one or more neighbors over, with whom they find themselves in all kinds of situations.

Alberto wants to show off his fake fur coat to his friends, but they think he is a bear and suspect it has eaten Alberto and is now heading their way. When they are sitting together in mourning, Alberto walks in and everything becomes clear.

Everyone (except Samson and Gert) is smitten with the baker's daughter. When Gert's romantic Christmas card falls into the hands of the others, each one of them thinks it's from the baker's daughter meant just for them.

Van Leemhuyzen is fed up with The Mayor bossing him around all the time. He feels he deserves a proper holiday too, so he decides to leave The Mayor and move in with Samson and Gert. After a while though, he doesn't enjoy it there either, and so he takes up residence in Alberto's chalet instead. But then Van Leemhuyzen and The Mayor start to miss each other...

Alberto and Van Leemhuyzen's unique Christmas sweaters get mixed up with each other. The two friends can't figure out what happened — one ends up with a sweater that's way too big, the other with one that's way too small. By the evening, the mix-up becomes clear.

After a delicious dinner at Samson and Gert's chalet, Alberto wants to head back to his own place but the others won't let him. After all, Alberto promised to help clean up. There are three chores to be done: clearing the table, washing the dishes, and fetching wood from outside. Since nobody is exactly jumping at the chance to take on any of the chores, the friends decide to draw lots. The Mayor has put slips of paper with everyone's names into his hat, and for each task that needs to be done, he will draw a slip and whoever's name is on it has to do that chore. But is The Mayor really playing fair?

Samson is worried that Santa Claus won't be able to find him. One by one, his friends each decide to dress up as Santa without knowing the others are doing the same. Suddenly there are three Santas showing up, but luckily the real Santa comes through too.

The Mayor wants to head into town to address the residents, but the weather won't let him leave. Gert sets up a livestream to broadcast the Christmas message online. It works — but everyone wants to have their say.

Gert is preparing all kinds of treats for Van Leemhuyzen and The Mayor who are going out for a hike. Alberto is jealous and pretends he's going along on the hike so he can get his hands on the snacks early. Meanwhile, Gert can't figure out where all the food keeps disappearing to.

Thanks to The Mayor and Van Leemhuyzen who are fed up with his singing, Alberto appears to be snowed in. When Gert simply walks right in, he realizes it's all a trick. Gert and Alberto decide to give the others a taste of their own medicine.
#13 - Presents

After Alberto makes a few attempts to peek at his gift, Gert wraps up an apple instead. Alberto falls for it and trades his present with The Mayor before even opening it. The package turns out to contain chocolates. Alberto is baffled — and ends up giving himself away.
#14 - The New Year's Party

Samson and Gert's friends offer to take care of this year's New Year's dinner. To decide who gets to do it, they hold a contest but both teams are a complete disaster in the kitchen. The dinner will be held at Samson and Gert's after all.

Van Leemhuyzen doesn't want to be cramped up in the van on the way home and gets in early to claim his spot. The others can't find him anywhere and think he's gone missing. They're about to report him missing when they luckily find him sitting happily in the van.
