The drug addict leaves Bex for dead but she is rescued and manages to survive. While as the remaining victims of the explosion try to escape, Jim gives up his own life so Rosie can escape the hospital alive.

Jess and Zubin talk and Sean realises she does not love him, so they decide to end their relationship and call off the wedding. Meanwhile, Chrissie persuades Connie to consider Mark for a permanent position, and she says she will interview him that afternoon. Mark says he will go but he later changes his mind and tells Connie he does not want the job. Connie is furious and berates Chrissie. Chrissie storms into the bar where Lisa and Mark are drinking and tells Mark she wants nothing more to do with him. Dominic Fryer starts work as the new teaching consultant but Diane is shocked to see him. One of his students, Emma, turns up, and they argue and she attacks him. Dominic collapses and discovers he has a hernia, so Ric agrees to operate on him later. Diane questions Emma on her relationship with Dominic. She asks if he forced himself on Emma and reveals he did the same to her. Dominic says he wants to be awake during his operation. During the procedure, Dominic and Diane start to argue
