Welcome to the PB&J Otter guide at TV Tome. 1997 must have been a good year for New York-based animation studio Jumbo Pictures, Inc. The company was enjoying the success of its recently renewed "Doug", and was also working on producing "101 Dalmations: The Series" - which premiered later that year. 1997 was also the year that the company's founder, Jim Jinkins, created the upbeat, musical animated series "PB&J Otter" for the Disney Channel. Developed with the cooperation of Harvard Cognitive Skills Group, Project Zero, the show premiered in March of 1998. "PB&J Otter" tells the continuing story of the day-to-day adventures of three young Otter siblings - older brother Peanut, younger sister Jelly, and baby sister Butter - and their friends and family, living life in a small community known as Lake Hoohaw. #1 - Go away, Gorilla / Mama for a Day
Season 1 - Episode 4 - Aired 3/28/1998
A.) While trying to fall asleep, PB&J suspect that there is a gorilla hiding in their room, waiting to gobble them up. Faced with the terrible situation, the siblings begin to plan their defensive strategies. B.) When Opal comes down with a cold, and must rest in bed for the day, PB&J volunteer to take over the daily chores and responsibilities.
#2 - The Silent Treatment / Picture Perfect
Season 1 - Episode 6 - Aired 4/4/1998
A.) Jelly and her best friend, Pinch Raccoon, have a big argument, and therefore refuse to speak to each other, ever, ever, ever again. B.) Peanut and Jelly try to keep Butter from playing in the mud, so they can all stay clean for the upcoming family picture.
#3 - The Treasure of Hoohaw Rock / A Sledding We Will Go
Season 1 - Episode 2 - Aired 3/21/1998
A.) Mayor Jeff takes PB&J on a treasure hunt, to find the long-lost cachè of toys he buried near Hoohaw Rock when he was a kid. B.) On one of the snowiest days of the year, PB&J try to figure out where to find a makeshift sled, when they remember that they don't have a real one.
#4 - Bye, Bye PB&J / Babbleberry Day
Season 1 - Episode 1 - Aired 3/15/1998
A.) Peanut, Jelly, and Baby Butter fear that they will have to move away from Lake Hoohaw. B.) Ernest is supposed to pick babbleberries so he can make turnovers and sell them at his storeboat, but he has to fix the Snooties' water pipes. So PB&J decide to pick babbleberries for their his annual batch of babbleberry turnovers.
#5 - Bagpipe Blues / You Can't Come In
Season 1 - Episode 3 - Aired 3/22/1998
A.) Peanut takes his father's set of heirloom bagpipes without asking, and lands in a world of trouble when he accidentally drops them in the lake. B.) The kids decide to create their own individual clubhouses, each with their own ""exclusive"" set of rules. However, they soon discover that having a club without friends to be in it isn't much fun at all.
#6 - Born to Chirp / Mega Melon
Season 1 - Episode 5 - Aired 3/29/1998
A.) While playing in the yard, Jelly finds and captures a grasshopper. And when it manages to secretly escape, Jelly begins to panic, fearing that the grasshopper was maybe a victim of an alien abduction. B.) PB&J keep watch over Mayor Jeff's pompalope melon patch. Later, they accidentally break the stem off of one of his prize melons, but they do try their best to fix it.
#7 - Invitation to the Snooties / Too Hot for Fishsicles
Season 1 - Episode 7 - Aired 4/5/1998
A.) When the mail carrier accidentally loses PB&J's invitation to Ootsie and Bootsie Snooty's big birthday bash, the Otter kids begin to feel as though they weren't wanted there in the first place. B.) When a massive heatwave hits Lake Hoohaw, drying up every ounce of water in the lake, PB&J and their friends try to figure out how to keep themselves cool.
#8 - Otter in the Water / All Popped Out
Season 1 - Episode 8 - Aired 4/12/1998
A.) The Otter family tries to help Jelly overcome her fear of going in the water, hopefully in time for the neighborhood's big Waterball Tournament. B.) PB&J's father acquires an authentic popcorn popping machine for his storeboat. When he leaves the room for a moment, the kids decide to pop the popcorn themselves, so they can surprise him when he comes back in. What results is a pandemonious flooding of popped corn!
#9 - Nothin' but the Tooth / Special Delivery
Season 1 - Episode 9 - Aired 4/19/1998
A.) PB&J plan to trick the tooth fairy into leaving them money, so they can afford to buy their mother a good birthday present. B.) Peanut sends away for a Super Spy Ring, from the back of a Frosted Fish Flakes cereal box. When it finally arrives, though, Peanut finds that the ring doesn't work quite the way he thought it would.
#10 - Soap Box Derby Day / Howdy HooHaw Day
Season 1 - Episode 10 - Aired 4/26/1998
A.) While getting ready for an upcoming soap box derby, an intense rivalry develops between Peanut and Jelly. B.) When Peanut is chosen for the lead role in the Founder's Day Pageant, he begins to suffer from severe stage fright.
#11 - Butter the Balloonatic / Gizmotronictron Raffle
Season 1 - Episode 11 - Aired 5/3/1998
A.) When Baby Butter's favorite toy, a red balloon, mysteriously vanishes, Flick becomes the prime suspect of theft. B.) To benefit the Lake Hoohaw Historical Society, Mayor Jeff holds a raffle for a machine that will take care of all household chores FOREVER. The kids then try and rake up enough money (via odd jobs and just plain begging) to buy a raffle ticket.
#12 - Dare Duck / Otters of the Wild
Season 1 - Episode 12 - Aired 5/10/1998
A.) Flick dares Peanut to go along with him to a dangerous and forbidden cave. B.) What begins as a plan for a quiet Otter family camping trip eventually turns into a neighborhood affair, when Peanut and Jelly invite all their friends along.

Season 1 - Episode 13 - Aired 5/17/1998
A.) A fishing contest is held on the lake, and the Snooties hope to win using the fanciest high-tech fishing equipment that money can buy. The Otters, however, prove to be tough opponents to beat, just by using a simple homemade fishing pole. B.) When a rainy day washes out the family's plans to go see a performance of ""The Sleeping Beagle"" on the Show Boat, PB&J decide to stage their OWN performance of the story.
