#2 - Los Angeles: Elm Street

Season 3 - Episode 46 - Aired 4/13/2003

There's much more laughter than work in this Trading Spaces celebrity episode. It's our own fault — letting comedians Andy Dick and Sara Rue trade spaces is just asking for trouble! Genevieve Gorder had the toughest job — trying to get Andy to actually do some work in remaking Sara's home office. Over at Andy's house, Vern Yip was having no such problem as he, Sara and her husband laid down tile floor in Andy's kitchen. Carpenter Ty Pennington built a sofa/bench for Gen, finished countertops for Vern, and kept Andy Dick on his comedian's toes. Join us for the laughs.

#3 - Vegas [Live Reveal]

Season 3 - Episode 32 - Aired 1/18/2003

Vegas, baby, Vegas. Doug, Hildi and Amy Wynn descend on Sin City to work their magic (whether it's black or white is in the eye of the beholder) on a family and bedroom. If that's not decadent enough for you, for the first time ever the reveal will be done 100 percent live. Considering Doug and Hildi are the designers, tears could be involved -- especially if Hildi insists on spray painting something.

#4 - Austin: Aire Libre Drive

Season 3 - Episode 33 - Aired 1/25/2003

We're really pinching pennies on this episode! Designer Frank Bielec battles the budget while trying to add color and comfort to an all-white living room with tile floors. Next door, Kia Steave-Dickerson spends half her budget on window treatments and needs to borrow furniture from other rooms to dress up her new living room. Carpenter Ty Pennington is the only one who's NOT stressed out. With no money to spare, our designers haven't given him any projects. See how he spends his two days of leisure!

Season 3 - Episode 34 - Aired 1/25/2003

It's all about entertainment on this episode. We start off in a Texas comedy club and the laughs just keep coming. Designer Genevieve Gorder and her team do a faux finish to make the new living room walls look like champagne. Meanwhile, Doug Wilson makes news with a new chair and a graphic art project in his living room. Our usually-entertaining Ty Pennington isn't laughing now as he builds not one, but TWO, new fireplace surrounds. Tune in and let us entertain you.

#6 - San Clemente: Camino Mojado

Season 3 - Episode 35 - Aired 2/1/2003

Trading Spaces hits Southern California with plans to bring beach into a bedroom; and old Hollywood movies into a media room. Vern Yip uses upholstered panels and movie star imagery to turn a bland loft into an elegant home theater space. Up the street, Genevieve transforms a plain master bedroom into a resort hideaway, complete with a mosquito net canopy. Ty Pennington gets himself into hot water with Paige, as he adds too much time-consuming detail to Gen's storage unit project. Join us for this episode of fun in the sun.

#7 - California: Dusty Trail

Season 3 - Episode 36 - Aired 2/8/2003

The renovations almost didn't happen in this episode of Trading Spaces! Genevieve Gorder and her team wait until the last second for the arrival of a tin ceiling for the kitchen. By the time the tin arrives, Ty Pennington isn't sure he can get the whole thing installed. Find out if they finish. Over at Doug Wilson's house, things are much calmer as he teaches his team a serene faux finish treatment for the master bedroom. It's soothing but it takes forever! This time, the clock may beat us!

#8 - California: Farfield

Season 3 - Episode 37 - Aired 2/15/2003

Opposites attract in this episode of Trading Spaces! Our conservative couple hopes for a conservative designer in their game room. Instead, they get Kia Steave Dickerson, who gives them a chess board made of fire and plumbing products. Across the street, our crazy couple hopes for a crazy designer in their master bedroom. Instead, they get Frank Bielec, who gives them romance made from mosquito netting and coffee beans! Carpenter Ty Pennington's just hoping to get done as he builds a game table and stools for Kia and a coffee bar for Frank. Find out if our homeowners like their ""opposite"" designs.

#9 - San Diego: Duenda Road

Season 3 - Episode 38 - Aired 2/22/2003

It's all about the materials on this episode of Trading Spaces! Designer Vern Yip strengthens a family room fireplace by covering it with slate tiles. Across the street, designer Frank Bielec softens up the master bedroom by hanging a silk canopy. Carpenter Amy Wynn Pastor is, unfortunately, stuck between a rock and a hard place as she can't find time to finish the armoire for Frank AND the entertainment center doors for Vern. Looks like we'll leave one set of homeowners with more work to do!

#10 - Los Angeles: Murietta Avenue

Season 3 - Episode 39 - Aired 3/1/2003

It's a rocking good time in sunny California as our designers join forces with a rock musician, his comedian wife, and their wacky neighbors. Both teams are looking for new living rooms and our group does not disappoint. Designer Genevieve Gorder paints the town red, and shops in the garage for new furniture! Meanwhile, Laurie Hickson-Smith sings the blues when her $45 rug doesn't arrive in time. Can she find a new one for the same price? Amy Wynn's not worried about money; she needs more time to build huge wall-sized cabinets for Laurie's living room. Tune in for one of our most memorable reveals!

#11 - Scottsdale: Bell Road

Season 3 - Episode 40 - Aired 3/8/2003

We're designing for the generations on this episode of Trading Spaces! Vern Yip takes a cue from his newlywed homeowners who want more romance in their bedroom. He responds with wall-to-ceiling maple paneling and an uplifting new bed! Next door, Frank Bielec reverts back to childhood to remake a bedroom for a 9-year-old girl. With bright colors and fun furniture, it's the room of a young girl's dreams. Ty Pennington's hard at work building a monkey desk for Frank, and a new bed frame for Vern. #12 - Scottsdale: Windrose Drive

Season 3 - Episode 41 - Aired 3/15/2003

It's a wild ride through the Old West as designers Doug Wilson and Frank Bielec square off in a bedroom redecorating duel. Frank goes deep purple to create a royal master bedroom suite, while Doug divides his room into sleeping and reading quarters. Of course, no duel would be complete without drill-slinging carpenter Ty Pennington, who's so busy building Doug's dividing wall that he forgets all about Frank's house. #13 - Vegas: Smokemont Court

Season 3 - Episode 42 - Aired 3/22/2003

It's an explosive episode of Trading Spaces when one homeowner walks out of her reveal. Jesse told her neighbor she didn't like the color brown, but designer Laurie Smith had other ideas for this living room. See what happens when Jesse returns to her least favorite color! Designer Edward Walker is having a color debate of his own — he wants a purple ceiling in the new office but his homeowners aren't so sure. Beach bums unite on this episode of Trading Spaces! Our design team catches some rays before breaking into work. Kia Steave-Dickerson decides to bring the beach with her, making over a bedroom with bamboo accents and a clamshell bed. Hildi Santo Tomas takes a more low-key approach, turning a family room into an art gallery with soothing blue walls and tropical-colored artwork. There's nothing soothing about Ty Pennington's schedule — he's making a shell bed for Kia and laying tile floor for Hildi. Join us for this fun in the sun!

Oh NO! Hildi Santo Tomas has one of the biggest rooms in Trading Spaces history. And it needs lots of repair. See how she and carpenter Ty Pennington rebuild and redecorate this enormous family room. Next door, things are smaller in scale as Laurie Hickson-Smith jazzes up a bland living room with bright yellow and orange tones and a new closet for the big-screen TV. We pulled in some youthful star power for this episode of Trading Spaces. The four young stars of 7th Heaven agreed to trade their set for ours, and offered up their homes for redecoration. Hildi Santo Tomas, Beverley Mitchell and Jessica Biel spent the weekend transforming the living room of brothers George and Geoff Stults. But we think they spent more time cleaning than anything else! Meanwhile, Edward Walker and the guys redesigned Beverley's game room/den. The hardest part for them was trying to hide Beverley's huge basketball shoot-out game. So Amy Wynn came to the rescue — with a massive carpentry plan. Tune in for the final take!

Season 3 - Episode 48 - Aired 4/26/2003

Paint, Paint and More Paint make up the theme for this Florida episode of Trading Spaces. Doug Wilson's redoing a kitchen and needs to paint 40 cabinets three different colors. Across the street, Frank Bielec paints the walls of a huge master bedroom in several coats of fire-engine red. And, speaking of fire engines, Paige and Ty get a surprise visit when they accidentally trip the alarm! We've got all the bells and whistles on this episode — don't miss it!

#20 - Orlando: Smith Street

Season 3 - Episode 49 - Aired 5/3/2003

We've got new beds everywhere but NO ONE is sleeping on this episode of Trading Spaces. Hildi Santo-Tomas tackles a studio apartment space that needs two new beds for a father and his young daughter. Plus it needs a TV area, an eating area, an office area — see how Hildi designs four rooms in one! Across the street, Kia Steave-Dickerson has a bed plan of her own in a Moroccan-themed bedroom built for young newlyweds. You know, all this construction can only mean one thing — Amy Wynn's table saw is working overtime! See if she can get it all done.

#21 - Santa Monica: Ocean Park

Season 3 - Episode 50 - Aired 5/10/2003

We've got hot and heavy debates on this episode of Trading Spaces. Laurie Smith's team thinks they hear cattle calls when they see her new artwork for the living room walls. But she tends to disagree. Upstairs in this condominium building by the sea, Vern Yip is bringing the outside IN to a bachelor's master bedroom. But HIS team is having a little problem with the baby-blue colors. Ty Pennington seems to be the only one who's NOT debating — he has too much work and he knows it!

#22 - Los Angeles: Irving Street

Season 3 - Episode 51 - Aired 5/17/2003

It never rains in Southern California ... until the Trading Spaces crew pulls into town! We've got a downpour on our hands in this episode and it's making Ty Pennington's job a lot harder than usual. He's building a bar for Frank Bielec's new lounge living room, and a low-riding coffee table for Genevieve Gorder's orchid-inspired living room. See how he tries to work AND stay dry at the same time. And find out if our apartment-dwelling homeowners rain down praise on their newly-redecorated rooms.

#23 - California: Via Jardin

Season 3 - Episode 52 - Aired 5/24/2003

The tears flow freely during these reveals, but are they tears of joy or sorrow? You'll have to tune in and find out. What I CAN tell you is that our design team will need good animal instincts to survive this episode. We've got Vern Yip staying up all night with his team to lay down wood floor in the new kitchen. Across the way, Laurie Hickson-Smith is staying up all night trying to figure out how to paint the ceiling AND still stay under budget. Amy Wynn Pastor's sleeping good at night because she's working all day, building a kitchen island for Vern, and a fireplace facade for Laurie. #24 - Orlando: Winter Song Drive

We decided to try two new things on this episode of Trading Spaces. First, Doug Wilson's redecorating a room that's actually OUTSIDE the house — our first-ever patio re-do. And Vern Yip's breaking new ground by taking his team shopping for a new sofa in the living room. Amy Wynn's got her usual overload of work — building banquet seats for Doug and a coffeetable for Vern. Will our homeowners appreciate the new things we've done in their rooms? See for yourself.

#25 - Florida: Night Owl Lane

Season 3 - Episode 54 - Aired 6/7/2003

Things start out very artistic on this episode of Trading Spaces. Hildi Santo Tomas creates art gallery space in the formerly-cluttered living room of two avid art collectors. While Edward Walker uses Buddha as a Muse to create a master bedroom full of serenity. But, as always on Trading Spaces, serenity doesn't last long. Amy Wynn's the first to stress out, trying to build a new bed for Edward and a whole new wall for Hildi. Then Hildi and her team strike a sour note while moving a family's heirloom piano back into place. See how art turns to tension in this episode!
