Blue Heelers was one of Australia's longest running weekly television drama series. Blue Heelers is a police drama series set in the fictional country town of Mount Thomas. Under the watchful eye of Tom Croydon (John Woods), the men and women of Mount Thomas Police Station fight crime, resolve disputes and tackle the social issues of the day. The gruelling investigation of the attacks on the Mt. Thomas police continues, as Tom heads to Melbourne to investigate the man who sold the parts for the bomb. He links it to chemical dealer 'Doc' Parkinson, and is determined to prove that he provided the Baxters with supplies for both the bomb and the speed. Although Nick seems to be against this idea, he does join PJ and Amy - who everyone at the station is very impressed with - on another search of the Baxter property, during which time he plants listening devices in their home - which ultimately lead them to discover the truth. On a doorknock, Jonesy and Susie rescue an attractive woman named Donna from a rubbish skip she has been locked in, and Jonesy falls for her. That night at the pub, her former de facto lover hits him, and then claims that Donna took all his possessions, and is a con artist. But then a woman goes missing and Tony starts to think that Nick is having an affair with her. Maybe Tony will get a nice, juicy article out of all of this... with Nick as the subject!

It's raining cats and dogs in Mount Thomas and Nick and Adam are overdue back from patrol. When they arrive they are drenched through and their uniforms are in tatters. The other Heelers have no idea of the extent of their trauma until Tom asks them to explain themselves and Adam bursts into tears. While Dash attempts to draw the story out of Adam, Nick disappears to change his uniform. However, shock has taken over and he withdraws into himself, making it difficult to find out the true story. Adam explains that it all began when they attempted to rescue a young girl from a flooded stormwater drain. While Nick held onto her and attempted to stop her from being dragged away, he sent Adam for help. However Adam soon found himself in the middle of a crisis of his own involving the girl's sister and wasn't able to get back in time. There is a total fire ban. A frustrated PJ is seduced by Jo one night, while - in the other room - Ben gets progressively drunker. Later, as Jo and PJ lie awake, they smell smoke and realise the house is on fire. After rescuing Ben, they flee. While they recover at the hospital, Jonesy arrives and tells them that all their belongings are destroyed. Ben claims an intruder knocked him out, so an arson squad is called. Meanwhile, Tess and Jonesy fight over her new marriage to Dr. Carmichael. At the remains of their house, PJ finds a photo frame with Maggie in it, and pockets it but doesn't tell Jo.
