Sonny Munroe makes the leap from the Midwest to Los Angeles to join the cast of "So Random!," the most popular sketch comedy TV show for kids and tweens. Her fellow young actors are resident teen queen Tawni, super suave Nico, gregarious funnyman Grady and quirky Zora. Now Sonny must somehow balance these new friendships while adjusting to her family's decidedly different way of life in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Sonny must also contend with heartthrob Chad Dylan Cooper, star of the rival show "MacKenzie Falls," who makes it known that he thinks his dramatic work is better than her comedy career.

Sonny's mother, Connie (Nancy McKeon) advises her to talk to Tawni. Things get worse when Sonny tries to help Tawni, as she accidentally shreds Tawni's favorite stuffed animal. Then, when Tawni talks to Marshall (Michael Kostroff), Sonny decides she doesn't care what Tawni thinks anymore and makes the One Bad Bee sketch to get back at her.

Chad is the new guest star on So Random, and he and Sonny have to do a sketch together where they will kiss, much to her dismay. Chad then says when Sonny looks into his eyes she will fall in love with him. Sonny takes this seriously, and, worried she will fall in love with Chad tries everything she can to get out of it. In the end, they do the sketch and just as their about to kiss a pig flies into Sonny's hands, so she let's the pig kiss Chad. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady get control of Marshall's office for the day, in exchange for Chad's So Random appearance.

Meanwhile, it is Sonny and Chad’s seven week aniversary as a couple, but Sonny can’t make the date due to being Pauly. Nico and Grady take advantage and tell Chad that Sony may be losing interest, only so they can get him to join their video gamer’s group.
