Gil Favor is trail boss of a continuous cattle drive; he is assisted by Rowdy Yates. The crew runs into characters and adventures along the way. Rawhide was a television western series that aired on the U.S. network CBS from 1959 to 1966. The show starred Eric Fleming and launched the career of Clint Eastwood. The series ran for eight seasons on the CBS network from January 9, 1959 to January 4, 1966, with a total of 217 episodes, all filmed and broadcast in black and white. Rawhide was the fourth longest-running American TV western.

Season 6 - Episode 31 - Aired 5/14/1964
Hey Soos is captured by a small secretive tribe of Indians, and forced to drink peyote liquid. An indian girl helps him escape. The new drover, Mister Brothers was a missionary and tried to convert this tribe. They came to believe if they crucified white men they dead ancestors would come back to life.
#2 - Brush War at Buford
Season 8 - Episode 11 - Aired 11/23/1965
Major Buford who fought for the south ties his herd in with Rowdy's. He does this so he can cross Duke Aberdeen's land. Duke was a POW in a Confederate prison, and won't let Buford cattle cross his land. The major's son Court hates anything Yankee. Union forces burned the Buford mansion in Virginia, and soon after Mrs. Buford died. Duke sends out phoney stock inspectors that claim many of the cattle are someone else's.

Season 2 - Episode 24 - Aired 4/8/1960
When the son of a gypsy queen is murdered, she insists one of the drovers did it and demands the killer be found and turned over. Gil rebuffs her, prompting the old woman to predict trouble for the drive, which does start to happen.

Wish finds an indian left to die in a cave, and rescues him.

Season 7 - Episode 6 - Aired 10/30/1964
Gurd Canliss an aging hired gun, has Don Miguel as his next target. Gurd's wife Augusta and Favor try to stop it.
#6 - The Violent Land
Season 7 - Episode 20 - Aired 3/5/1965
Mace and Gorman the new drovers have more than cows on thier minds. Mace shows Favor a reward poster for $10,000 for a white girl captured by the Apaches. Rowdy visits the grave of his sister killed the the indians. Rowdy refuses to sell twelve head to Yuma, the Apache chief.
#7 - Piney
Season 7 - Episode 3 - Aired 10/9/1964
Favor hears Piney Kinney wants to join the herd thinking it will solve his need for drovers. However, Piney who lost his herd and most of his ranch, is working with a gang to rob the bank and use Favor's herd as cover for their escape.
#8 - Escort to Doom
Season 8 - Episode 5 - Aired 10/12/1965
Rowdy enlists the aid of eight Indians who have been trailing the herd to get to the Little Red River. Their leader, Yellow Sun, looks white. The drovers, particularly Wish doesn't like it. The other Indians, particularly Quadero doesn't like it.
#9 - Prairie Fire
Season 7 - Episode 22 - Aired 3/19/1965
Wish buries Tod Murdoch, his friend, who 500 head he is to take to tie up with Favor's herd at horsehead crossing. Tod's foreman Jerry and Milt and Pitts plan to steal the cattle once they get the ownership paper from Wish. Wish has hidden it plain sight. He won't tell where and they try to beat it out of him.

Season 7 - Episode 1 - Aired 9/25/1964
Rowdy quits and gets his own herd and races Favor to the railhead.
#11 - Incident of the Music Maker
Season 2 - Episode 29 - Aired 5/20/1960
When Gil receives a nasty wound that becomes seriously infected, he is unaware of a Swiss jack-of-all-trades that has totally unarmed his cowboys. The Swiss has a plan for some of the cattle.
#12 - Incident of the Champagne Bottles
Season 2 - Episode 22 - Aired 3/18/1960
It looks like the drovers are moving smoothly until they find a very slow moving wagon on their way, allegedly carrying champagne. As it turns out it was not only champagne and everyone could be in danger.

Rowdy leaves to buy cattle to replenish the herd. He comes to a town of an eccentric English patriarch living with his beautiful daughter. Rowdy doesn't understand why he seems so afraid to sell the cattle without his foreman's permission.
#14 - Judgment at Hondo Seco
Season 4 - Episode 4 - Aired 10/20/1961
Quince gets a letter. He needs a couple of days off. Jim, Pete, Rowdy and Hey Soos go to Hando Seco. Casey the bartender knocks their drinks out of their hands when he finds out they rode in with Jim. Jim asks Judge Matt Quince how's his niece Joanna. She wants help running away. She's in love with Brad Lyons. He has a murder warrant on his head.

#15 - Incident of the Judas Trap
Season 1 - Episode 20 - Aired 6/5/1959
With wolves threatening the herd, Pete is sent to town to get a wolver and traps. None are available, but he meets his old flame, Nora Sage. She is later found strangled in her room. Brad Morgan, Medrina Wilcox's foreman also came to see her. Medrina has a herd but only one man. They pool herds. Brad was a wolver, and directs Favor's men in placing the traps. Brad toys with the affections of Nora, Medrina and her sister Paula. Favor lets the sheriff take Pete, but says he needs Morgan.

Dan Fletcher returns to his Ma and brother,Cal, whose home just burned. Cal thinks Frank Travis is trying to run them off. Frank's daughter Flora has had Cal courting her for a year, but she likes Danny.

A young girl is so shocked at her father's murder that she can not speak. She is taken captive by two escaped convicts.

John Shepard a former POW along with Rowdy is now a bounty hunter. The drovers wonder who he is after.

The owner of a remote trading post and his wife are coerced into backing a rustler's scheme to get the drovers drunk, swipe the herd and sell the beeves to hide skinners.

In Cottonwood, at the Pair-A-Dice Saloon, Qunice gets in a fight with Major Courtney. Jim swears he'll kill him.

Horse thieves who have victimized Comanches also strike the drive's ramuda. Gil sends a group headed by Pete and Rowdy out to purchase replacement mounts. They encounter a preacher on his way to officiate a christening at the Lacey ranch, where he says horses are for sale. The drovers find their own stolen horses corralled there. So do the Comanches, who put the ranch under siege.
