The series focused on six young adults (henceforth: the group) who lived in London. Each episode was presented from a different character's point of view, which was never done before in a comedy-drama television show In the beginning, the gang was divided in two. We learn Sooz, Jamie and Alex are good friends. Jamie has a crush on Nikki, who he sees as a nice, innocent, delicate girl. Nikki was friends with Sasha, who was in a relationship with Rob. When Jamie invited Nikki to a fake party, the destinies of these six persons crossed and friendships were born. While Rob, Jamie and Alex became good friends, Nikki and Sasha didn't get along with Sooz, although they three had their moments together.

Season 1 - Episode 2 - Aired 1/23/2001
In this episode we are shown life from Sooz's point of view for the first time. On the outside, Sooz is a grungy, tough, unique, rebellious teenager with multiple peircings and dreadlocks. On the inside we learn she is quite insecure, and has a deep crush on her friend, Rob. Sooz is working on an art project and tries to photograph people's tattoos, but no one shows up to be her model. Jamie says it's because she scares men. Rob, seeing that Sasha is going out with a new guy, offers to pose for Sooz to get Sasha jealous and turns up at her house. Sooz takes photos of Rob's tattoo and the pair find they get on well. She ends up painting a tattoo on his back and while she trys to hide her feelings, they have a moment. Sooz lets spill that Sasha is getting serious with her new boyfriend but is unable to reveal how she feels to Rob.

This episode is all from the point of view of Jamie, a typical teenager whose main thoughts are girls and parties. Jaime's latest crush is Nicki, who's just split up with her latest boyfriend. Sooz is the dark and struggling artist of the group with her many piercings and tattoos and an attitude that scares most guys away. Rob is a young man who works at a coffee bar and is in a relationship with Sasha, Nicki's best friend. Finally there's Alex who who is best mates with Jaimie and a pal to Sooz but who has a secret.
