#1 - Gaming Secrets, Indie Pearls & More - Under the Radar SPECIAL | GAME TWO #299
Season 11 - Episode 46 - Aired 7/8/2023
Game Two and the "Under the Radar" section go together like peas and bricks. Or like mouse and keyboard, or hands and controller. That's why this week we've dedicated an entire episode to the best video game broadcasting column ever. Included are highlights like BROTATO, ONLY UP, WARHAMMER 40K BOLTGUN and DAVE THE DIVER, which have already managed to generate a bit of hype on Twitch and co. in recent weeks. But there are also some titles you might not have heard of like FALL OF PORCUPINE, BLEAK SWORD DX or SLUDGE LIFE 2. And a few genre hits like AEW FIGHT FOREVER, GHOST TRICK: PHANTOM DETECTIVE or MASTER DETECTIVES ARCHIVE: RAIN CODE have also been played. Which game makes you all excited? Feel free to post it in the comments!
Watch Now:AmazonApple TV#2 - Die Geschichte der Videospiele - DAS MUSICAL | GAME TWO
Season 11 - Episode 47 - Aired 7/15/2023
Game Two tells the story of gaming from the first console to the latest graphics card. From the crudely pixelated beginnings called Pong, Space Invaders and co. to the battle of consoles against the PC, the triumph of handheld consoles and the transition to mobile games, Free-2-Play and microtransactions, everything a gaming fan needs to know is sung about here. But the 300th episode of Game Two is no ordinary episode. For the big anniversary, Game Two continues the Game One tradition: an episode without a (visible ????) cut. But because that's not elaborate enough, the gaming history is also told in musical form. Music, dance, performance, info, gaming and an emotional story about two friends who lost each other - in this episode we simply packed in everything we could. We hope you like it!
Watch Now:Amazon#3 - Resident Evil 4, Diablo 4, The Finals, The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR | GAME TWO #285
Season 11 - Episode 32 - Aired 3/25/2023
With the remake of RESIDENT EVIL 4, Capcom returns to one of the most popular games in gaming history. But how do you upgrade such a classic in style? THE DARK PICTURES: SWITCHBACK VR wants to take advantage of the new PSVR2 peripherals and stage its horror in a gripping and "menacingly close" way. Kuro, on the other hand, has taken a look at two games with high expectations: THE FINALS is the new game from former BATTLEFIELD developers that combines fully destructible maps with a new game mode and has already attracted a lot of attention in the beta - and rightly so? And then there's action role-playing game DIABLO 4, which is supposed to repair the tarnished reputation of the former cult studio Blizzard. According to our impressions of the beta, this could well work out (at least in terms of the quality of their game output).
Watch Now:Amazon#4 - Dead Space, Forspoken, SpongeBob Schwammkopf: The Cosmic Shake | GAME TWO #279
Season 11 - Episode 26 - Aired 2/11/2023
With the remake of DEAD SPACE, publisher EA returns to its survival horror brand, which is sorely missed by many fans. Whether this is the basis for a reboot and continuation of the series is hard to tell right now, but at least Trant tells you what he thought of the recent trip to the deserted Ishimura. Open-world game FORSPOKEN has a bit of alarm sirens blaring even before its release: Sparse sampling from game editors, horrendous technical requirements of the PC version and an unstable running PS5 demo did not cast the prettiest shadows ahead. John will tell you whether the finished game is also a reason for caution. In his mini-review, Kuro tells you whether the shallow platformer SPONGEBOB SWOODHEAD: THE COSMIC SHAKE makes the heart of a series fan beat faster, or rather not.
Watch Now:Amazon#5 - Atomic Heart Review & Kontroverse, Octopath Traveler 2 | GAME TWO #282
Season 11 - Episode 29 - Aired 3/4/2023
The first-person shooter ATOMIC HEART has been making headlines since its announcement: On the one hand, because the mixture of Half Life, Bioschock and Wolfenstein surprised many gaming fans with its bold graphics and original setting - on the other hand, because the people behind Atomic Heart from the Russian-born studio Mundfish claim to be developing the game in Cyprus, but there are doubts about this due to some indications. You can find out why there is a heated debate about the boycott of Atomic Heart in the news. Also in the show: OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2. The predecessor already relied on an interesting mixture of oldschool JRPG with story focus and gorgeous noble pixel optics. However, Basti wasn't convinced by the game back then due to some weaknesses. Whether that is different this time, you can see in his review.
Watch Now:Amazon#6 - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cassette Beasts, Zelda ToTK | GAME TWO #289
Season 11 - Episode 36 - Aired 4/29/2023
Is STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR a bug-fest? This is the accusation that the action adventure game has to face at the moment, because the review version still looked pretty disastrous from a technical point of view. The pre-release patch fixes some problems with the graphics, but will that be enough? And what about the rest of the game? Kuro has investigated for you. CASSETTE BEASTS is based on the Pokémon franchise, but will be released on PC first, before the console versions for Switch and Xbox follow. It goes without saying that this game has to be tested by our Pokémon expert Markus, who tells you in his review whether Cassette Beasts can keep up with the big competition from Nintendo. In addition to the news, where you can read about UNRECORD, the hype game of the moment, Trant went to Frankfurt to play a preview version of THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM.
Watch Now:Amazon#7 - Honkai: Star Rail, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, Unter dem Radar | GAME TWO #290
Season 11 - Episode 37 - Aired 5/6/2023
Advance Wars is a true classic from the Game Boy Advance and is finally getting a new edition with ADVANCE WARS 1+2: RE-BOOT CAMP. Not only Colin is very happy about this. Matthias has also tested the remake (yes, the name was only chosen because of the pun) in detail in the review. The gameplay of Genshin Impact is also very popular and the Gacha system has many fans. Therefore, HONKAI: STAR RAIL was a logical step from MiHoYo: similar formula, different universe. But Honkai: Star Rail is clearly different from Genshin Impact when you take a closer look. In what exactly, you'll find out in the review. In UNDER THE RADAR we have once again put together a juicy mix of the best games of the last few months. Including: DREDGE, DEMONOLOGIST, THE WRECK, THE MAGESEEKER - A LEAGUE OF LEGENDS STORY, AGE OF WONDERS 4, OMEGA STRIKERS and PARANORMASIGHT: THE SEVEN MYSTERIES OF HONJO.
Watch Now:Amazon#8 - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Redfall, Darkest Dungeon 2 | GAME TWO #291
Season 11 - Episode 38 - Aired 5/13/2023
A hot candidate for the Game of the Year has arrived: THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM follows in the big footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but also knows how to fill them. Trant has played the epic adventure for the Nintendo Switch and tells you in his review whether Link, Zelda and Co. deserve a place on the podium of the best game of 2023. REDFALL will definitely not be on this podium. The total disaster from Arcane will probably still be a topic in the future, when hopefully it will be clarified how this game could come about. What's so bad about it? John has played in and summarized the best bugs, the most boring gameplay and the rest of the game. Esther also has some impressions of DARKEST DUNGEON 2 for you.
Watch Now:Amazon#9 - Street Fighter 6, System Shock, After Us | GAME TWO #294
Season 11 - Episode 41 - Aired 6/3/2023
In the fighting game genre, there's little that beats the effective hand-slaps of the STREET FIGHTER series. The beat'em-up community is all the more excited about the recently released STREET FIGHTER 6. Game-Two-Hadoken master Kuro tells you whether the new part fits like a glove. The SYSTEM SHOCK series, which is considered the original soup of games like DEUS EX or BIOSHOCK, enjoys an equally respectable reputation. Unfortunately, it was quite quiet around the RPG shooter for a long time. Now, however, the remake of the first part, which has been in development for a long time, is supposed to breathe new life into the series. Chris will tell you in his review if it succeeds. In addition, we have a mini-contribution to a small indie game gem, AFTER US. Sebastian will tell you whether it not only has an artistic but also a playful claim.
Watch Now:AmazonApple TV#10 - The Outlast Trials, Texas Chainsaw Massacre Preview, Under the Radar | GAME TWO #295
Season 11 - Episode 42 - Aired 6/10/2023
The title sounds like horror, but it's not: The new episode GAME TWO is not a nightmare, but if anything, a beautiful gaming dream! Well, THE OUTLAST TRIALS, the multiplayer spin-off of the sneak horror game hit is already... horror. And maybe a bit (very!) over the top in terms of violence. BUT! THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE... yes, well... is also full of horror elements, just like in the movies. But our intern Alex, after her excursion into the playtest, at least guaranteed us that the game can do something, and in the end isn't that scary. And in our "insider tip" section, there are also a lot of games under the radar! Yes, also AMNESIA: THE BUNKER, the next part of the cult horror series, and DECARNATION may also be a bit spooky... Come on: Yes, it's a nightmare show this week. So what! Nobody reads the text here anyway, right?
Watch Now:Amazon#11 - Bayonetta 3, Games Fair "Polaris", Scorn, Dome Keeper and more. | GAME TWO #269
Season 11 - Episode 16 - Aired 11/5/2022
A new games fair in Hamburg? POLARIS may not be a real competitor to Gamescom in Cologne, but we still had fun at the gaming and Japan trade fair. Fun could definitely also be associated with the name BAYONETTA. Fans of Game One will most certainly have happy memories of the first two Bayonetta parts, as their reviews have become legendary. It's clear that Trant had to get back to work on BAYONETTA 3, which will be released exclusively for the Switch. In UNDER THE RADAR, John has once again put together a fine selection of insider tips for you. Among them is THE CAPTAIN, which was already released last year, but was so explicitly recommended by Simon that we couldn't help but mention it again. Also in the show: DOME KEEPER, SCORN, SIGNALIS and MOONSCARS.
#12 - PlayStation VR 2, Wild Hearts, Tchia | GAME TWO #281
Season 11 - Episode 28 - Aired 2/25/2023
Competition for Monster Hunter? WILD HEARTS, the new monster hunting game from Omega Force, is noticeably in the same vein as its big role model from Capcom. However, it is not the first attempt to knock Monster Hunter off its throne. Monster Hunter expert Trant tried to find out whether the big breakthrough could come this time with Wild Hearts. PlayStation VR2 is also a new attempt to make its mark. After all, the VR genre has still been a bit in its infancy for what feels like years. However, the PSVR 2 now takes a different path than its predecessor. A whole new level of realism is supposed to be achieved with state-of-the-art technology and a steep price of 600 Euros. Markus will tell you whether this has worked out. In the news, you can also read about the planned takeover of Activision / Blizzard by Microsoft, and Esther previewed the first hours of the indie game TCHIA.
#13 - Sons of the Forest, Company of Heroes 3, Final Fantasy XVI | GAME TWO #283
Season 11 - Episode 30 - Aired 3/11/2023
PC fans listen up: In this show, we've got some serious PC power for you. Let's start with SONS OF THE FOREST. In the review of the sequel to the survival hit The Forest, Chris enters the Early Access phase and explores with Trant what the game already has to offer in terms of story, gameplay and graphics. After that, it's on to COMPANY OF HEROES 3. The second part of Company of Heroes is already 10 years old, so fans are right to expect great things from Relic. Especially the first Company of Heroes is a big hit with many strategy fans with a soft spot for World War II as a setting. In the news, you can find out how Gregor liked the gameplay of FINAL FANTASY XVI, which he was shown at a preview event in London.
#14 - Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania, Crime Boss: Rockay City | GAME TWO #284
Season 11 - Episode 31 - Aired 3/18/2023
When a new Soulslike is released, Trant is usually not far away. That's why it's as clear as 300 screen deaths that he also took a look at WO LONG: FALLEN DYNASTY. Whether the new Souls-like game from the NIOH studio is any good, he will tell you in our review. In addition, John has fresh impressions from a preview event of CRIME BOSS: ROCKAY CITY for you - the first-person shooter with star guests like Chuck Norris and Michael Madsen. On top of that, we've got a new edition of our under-the-radar format, bringing you some missed gems like DEAD CELLS: RETURN TO CASTLEVANIA, PATCH QUEST and BAYONETTA ORIGINS: CREZA AND THE LOST DEMON.
Watch Now:Apple TV#15 - Fall asleep guarantee: The chilliest Game Two episode ever | GAME TWO #286
Season 11 - Episode 33 - Aired 4/1/2023
Want to relax? This episode lets you escape the stress of everyday life and takes you to a relaxed gaming retreat of your choice. And the title of the episode has nothing to do with the fact that this week we simply didn't receive any AAA hits, but we deliberately decided to cover smaller titles with less action. After all, everyone needs a bit of compensation from Dark Souls, Call of Duty and the like. And what could be better than watering the ground with TERRA NIL or reminiscing with Ausgegraben: EDNA BREAKS OUT. Only in the news is there a bit of action this week, because our intern Alex was able to play the co-op shooter REDFALL.
#16 - Everspace 2, Mechabellum, Meet Your Maker | GAME TWO #287
Season 11 - Episode 34 - Aired 4/15/2023
The German sci-fi role-playing game EVERSPACE 2 plays a bit like Diablo in space. So the good old principle of "looting and leveling" is used here and that means Everspace 2 is not something for fans of space shooters on the PC but also for Trant! If you are looking for a different kind of gameplay on the PC and are less into action than into crafting, you will be interested in the review of MEET YOUR MAKER. John has challenged Esther and Kuro to a challenge and has them play through three of his nastiest dungeons. In the news, you'll also find out the most important details of Sony's State of Play for Final Fantasy XVI as well as MECHABELLUM, an auto battler in the style of Team Fight Tactics, which recently went wild on Twitch.
Watch Now:Apple TV#17 - The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, LEGO 2K Drive, Planet of Lana | GAME TWO #293
Season 11 - Episode 40 - Aired 5/27/2023
Successful blockbuster productions from Germany are still rare, but can THE LORD OF THE RINGS: GOLLUM from German studio Daedalic Entertainment change that? The signs in the form of previews and reactions to the first trailers were mixed... Esther tells you how the game is doing now. LEGO 2K DRIVE wants to compete with MARIO KART 8 with its terminal block setting and some new ideas, Markus reports in his review if it works out. On top of that, we have a mini-review of the dreamy indie platformer PLANET OF LANA by our editorial intern Alex.
#18 - Aliens: Dark Descent, Crash Team Rumble, Shadow Gambit | GAME TWO #298
Season 11 - Episode 45 - Aired 7/1/2023
Attention people! There is a new good Aliens game! ALIENS: DARK DECENT really surprised us because it implements the creepiness factor of the Aliens universe surprisingly well, even with top-down perspective and strategy gameplay. For even more strategy, check out our preview of SHADOW GAMBIT. The pirate sneak game comes from Mimimi Games, the German strategy pros you may know from games like Shadow Tactics or Desperados. And another experiment, which was only partially successful, is called CRASH TEAM RUMBLE. Crash Bandicoot is known to pretty much everyone, but more from the 3D jump n' run genre. Now Toys for Bob has put him into an online multiplayer game.
#19 - Goodbye Funk, Hello ZDFneo! Dead Island 2, Ravenswatch, Shadows of Doubt | GAME TWO #288
Season 11 - Episode 35 - Aired 4/22/2023
We now belong to ZDFneo! As if it was yesterday, we can remember how Funk came through our door back then and wanted a "new Game One" from us. That was over 5 years ago and a lot has happened in that time. So it's time for the next step! So we will now carefully hand over from Funk into the more adult hands of ZDFneo. However, nothing will change in terms of content at Game Two, but we will remain as we are. So don't worry that we will be less chaotic, nutty or nerdy in the future. With our kind we are very welcome at ZDFneo and we are very happy about that! We are looking forward to many more years of Game Two and even more gaming on the public airwaves!
#20 - Game Preview 2023 [Part 2]: There's a lot coming up! | GAME TWO #278
Season 11 - Episode 25 - Aired 2/4/2023
More games for 2023? You bet! And while we're at it, Basti also discovered a few games that don't have a release date yet, but with a bit of luck could still be released this year. Among them: LIES OF P, DOKEV, HELLBLADE 2, STARFIELD and PRAGMATA.
Watch Now:Apple TV#21 - Game preview 2023 [Part 1]: These games await us! | GAME TWO #277
Season 11 - Episode 24 - Aired 1/28/2023
The gaming year 2023 is going to be fat! 2022 may not have satisfied every gaming fan, but in 2023 we can look forward to some big titles. From The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to the remakes of Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 to Starfield from Bethesda, there's a lot that either slipped into this year due to postponements or was announced directly for 2023. So whether you're gaming on Playstation, Xbox, Switch, or PC, the gaming year 2023 will likely have something in store for you. And of course, we at Game Two will once again cover the most important games with reviews, critiques and sketches, as you know it from us. Whether gameplay, story or graphics of the games listed here keep what they promise, we can't tell you yet, but that will change in the course of the year.
#22 - Gotham Knights, New Tales from the Borderlands, The Callisto Protocol | GAME TWO #268
Season 11 - Episode 15 - Aired 10/29/2022
A Batman game without Batman? Can that work? Apparently not! At least when you look at GOTHAM KNIGHTS. That's because it's quite a disaster. Kuro tells you why in his review. Can you still remember the glorious times of Telltale Games? The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us & Tales from the Borderlands - this studio had high-quality story-based games like no other. But then came the big surprise: Telltale Games had to close down. In the meantime there is a company under this name again, but NEW TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS is made by Gearbox Québec. Markus took a look to see if it can still convince. In the news you can also read about the next scandal around Activision Blizzard, the controversy around Bayonetta 3 and much more.
#23 - Saints Row, Gamescom-Indie-Special | GAME TWO #260
Season 11 - Episode 7 - Aired 9/3/2022
We promised you our GAMESCOM highlight - here it is! The best indie games of the fair, which were so numerous and diverse that you almost forget that GAMESCOM didn't have too much else to offer in terms of gaming. From PLANET OF LANA & ANGER FOOT to AMERICAN ARCADIA to VIKINGS ON TRAMPOLINES, FLINTLOCK and TCHIA, there were some exciting titles. And of course Markus and Sebastian will be gambling their way through the Indie Arena Booth again, which is bigger this year than ever before. And they even meet Nasti! Also, while we were at GAMESCOM in Cologne, John was busy with the reboot SAINTS ROW, which is supposed to bring the series back to its old strength, but rather achieves the opposite.
#24 - Stray, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Exoprimal | Game Two #255
Season 11 - Episode 2 - Aired 7/30/2022
It's nothing new that cats delight the Internet. That's why it wasn't all that surprising that the first trailers for the post-apocalypse adventure STRAY made such a big impact. But the highly ambitious game, which is somewhere between indie and double-A, now has to prove that it can do more than just unleash a cute cat on the Internet. John tells you more about it in his review. XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 3, on the other hand, has to show that the JRPG has learned from the loudly criticized mistakes of its predecessor. The Switch-exclusive title also wants to create a beautiful, different world with many open areas - whether the aging hardware of Nintendo's flexible console can keep up with that? Kuro will tell you. In the news, we also have some first impressions of the competitive cooperative dino-shooter EXOPRIMAL. Chris will tell you whether the concept has potential.
Watch Now:Apple TV#25 - God of War Ragnarök, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet | GAME TWO #270
Season 11 - Episode 17 - Aired 11/12/2022
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, God of War Ragnarok AND Pokémon Crimson & Purple in ONE SEQUENCE?! Wow, we live in exciting times! You're probably all busy gaming, Playstation 5, Xbox Series and PC are running hot but of course we want to give our opinion on the AAA gaming storm that's been hitting us this week. Because we had questions: Next year there will probably be no "new" Call of Duty. So can Modern Warfare 2 entertain for a whole two years? How much new does a Gof of War Ragnarok need, when 2018's predecessor God of War was already near perfect, at least if you believe the reviews. Why does Pokémon Scarlet and Purple still look so damn ugly? Why do you occupy sandwiches in a video game on the Nintendo Switch? And why do we still want to play it?
