A social worker is appointed to determine what is best for the family, leaving both parents facing the prospect of losing their child. Vicky makes a confession to Paula as she tries to make peace - which Stephen uses against her.

Vicky takes desperate measures, stealing money from the business to take Maxine to America, in the hope that help can be found there.
