Shiori fixed a tape recorder for Yukiji then tells her days as a student at Hakuō Academy. 7 years ago, when Maria was the student council president, Shiori amazed how academic and cute Maria is, so she shows her camera photos of her growth…but Maria breaks it like it was an accident. In the end, it seems Maria refuses to expose any of her cute traits. At the Sanzenin Mansion, Maria discovers a love letter for Hayate; however, he wants to turn it down then Nagi returns a strict reply to the sender; a second later, the sender replies a horror letter to Hayate which now scares him. Nagi devises Hayate and Maria to go on a fake date in order to drive away the sender. The sender is revealed to be Linn and he gets enrage of seeing Hayate dating Maria. Hayate and Maria follow Nagi's script by trying on different clothes even though it's embarrassing, with Ayumu and Hinagiku following them thinking their date is real. Last, Hayate and Maria go to an aquarium, as Linn tries to get involve with the maid, but fails. Then they run into Ayumu and Hinagiku and they ask if they're really dating, and respond it's just their imagination. At sundown, Maria hopes she'll find a boyfriend like Hayate someday. The episode ends showing a phone ringing.

Believing that Hyuga and Takao are just covering the I-401's escape, Kongou tracks her down and gives chase, refusing to slow down even after falling into a minefield left by Hyuga to help Iona escape. Iona tries to reason with Kongou with no success and when the battleship attempts to fire her Super Gravity Cannon underwater to sink her, Hyuga manages to hack into Kongou's systems to have her lose control for time enough to Iona and Gunzō to escape. Takao then reveals to Kongou that instead of Takao, the true decoy was Iona herself, while the vibration warhead, Makie, her friends and the rest of the I-401's crew were safely hidden aboard her and she returns to pick up Hyuga to rendevous with Iona and Gunzō, who despite escaping from Kongou's grasp, are ambushed by I-400 and I-402 and apparently sunk by them.

Hinata's blocker gets used to his speed and feints and begins to start blocking his shots, allowing Nekoma to win the first set 25-22. However Kageyama uses the opportunity to teach Hinata how to do a straight attack and how to use his eyes to find the holes in the opponents defense. Hinata ends up managing to change his spike path in mid-air during set 2. It ends up going long, but Hinata realizes he has a new dangerous weapon to go along with his quick attack if he can master it.

To become an angel, there must a demon. Sophie also wants to learn the maneuver in order to unite the audience and the star, the same belief as Sora's. Rosetta is able to perform the trapeze as the princess while May is the villain and Sora is the prince. Again, Sora's brilliance to perform for the audience brings out May's desire to perform better.
