Unaware that Lucas saw her leaving the Brannings’, Denise doesn’t tell Lucas she visited Owen. Knife in his pocket, Lucas visits Owen, who tells Lucas exactly what he said to Denise. Lucas puts his hand in his pocket and squeezes the blade of his knife. Owen tries to goad Lucas into hitting him. Lucas tells Owen he’s got one week to leave, he shakes Owen’s hand and leaves. Owen looks at his hand; it’s covered in Lucas’ blood.

Ian tells Jane no one will give her a child while she’s in a state like this. When Masood falls asleep in the café, Christian retrieves a card from the blackmailer from a pile of post. Christian decides to tackle the problem head on, and when Syed accidentally leaves his phone, Christian uses it to call the blackmailer. The phone rings in a bin and Christian’s surprised to see Masood answer it. Christian follows Masood to the pub, the phone rings again, it’s Ian – Lucy’s been mugged. Denise isn’t happy that Owen has decided to stay in Walford. Liz makes Owen show Denise his bruises. Denise can’t believe that Lucas hit Owen and is furious when Lucas admits that he did. Jay helps Lucy home without admitting he was the one who attacked her. He dumps her phone in a bin.

She falls to the floor injured, the mugger hesitates and pulls back his hood – it’s Jay. Syed waits nervously for the post. When he receives a text ‘Today £300 cash’, Syed complies, leaving the money in a phone box. Blackmailer Lucy uses the money to buy her new phone. Christian thinks Syed was stupid to pay the blackmailer, but ends up comforting him. The men jump apart when Amira walks in and claim they’re discussing the wedding. Lucas gives Denise an engagement ring and they set a wedding date. They celebrate in the Vic with Pat, Patrick and Liz and discuss the dance competition. Lucas is shocked when Owen walks in. Realising that Jane is avoiding book club because Heather and George will be there, Tanya invites her over for a drink. Jane tells Tanya how much she wants a baby. She borrows Oscar and leaves him with Ian, in an attempt to win Ian round.

Pat is on the floor gasping for breath but just manages to cry out Janine’s name before passing out. Ricky arrives and asks Bianca what is going on. The paramedics enter the kitchen and inform them that Pat has gone into cardiac arrest. Pat is wheeled into the ambulance, while Bianca demands to know what Janine said to Pat. Janine refuses to tell Bianca anything and gets into the ambulance with Pat. Jane and Masood rush over to help and Jane offers to look after the children, while Bianca and Ricky go to Walford General. Masood runs to tell Peggy what has happened. In the living room, Jane asks Bianca what Janine and Pat were fighting about and Bianca tells her she doesn’t know but that she will get to the bottom of things. At the hospital, Janine, Bianca and Ricky are told that Pat has had a heart attack. While explaining how it happened, Bianca again asks Janine what she said to Pat to upset her in such a way, but the doctor informs them that Pat had an underlying condition which triggered the heart attack. When the doctor leaves, Janine and Bianca argue over Pat but Ricky is caught in the middle. Jane arrives and asks how Pat is and Jane comments on the attack being ‘a bit sudden’, whilst looking at Janine and trying to get a reaction from her. Max is babysitting Liam, Tiffany and Morgan but he convinces Janine to babysit after he spots her in the café. Janine walks into the lounge and finds Morgan and Liam re-enacting Pat being treated by the paramedics. Janine shouts at them as Liam tries to explain that he was trying to help Morgan understand what happened to Pat. Bianca and Ricky walk in whilst Janine is still shouting at Liam and Bianca is furious and throws Janine out. In the kitchen, Bianca and Ricky talk about Janine and realise they need to tell Simon in New Zealand about Pat so Bianca offers to call him, while Ricky goes back to the hospital. Christian wakes up in his flat annoyed and confused as a very annoying guy called Leyton he met at a club the previous night sings in the kitchen. Leyton tells Christian that he carried him home after he drank too much and eventually, to Christian’s relief, he leaves. However Christian spends the next hour trying to avoid Leyton in the Square before Chelsea warns him that his stalker is back. Clearing out the office, Bradley tells Max he never gets any time with Stacey alone because Becca is always around. Later, over dinner Max grills Stacey about spending more time with Becca than Bradley. Stacey is annoyed at Bradley for talking to Max about their relationship. At the Vic, Peggy tells Roxy that the family liaison officer brought round a pathology report on Archie. Upstairs, the Mitchells and Dr Al gather in the lounge to hear Roxy read the pathology report.
