Simon realises that he has never fancied Susan and tries really hard to change that fact. After a ‘moment’ in the photocopying room, he becomes convinced that they can be more than just friends. He takes her out to a resturant where he reveals his feelings for her. She is disgusted and decides that even though she can forget what has taken place, she cannot move in with him anymore.

#3 - Dry Your Tears
Doc Martin - Season 5 - Episode 2
The GP returns to his former post at the surgery after the departure of Dr Dibbs, agreeing to stay until a replacement is found. He persuades a reluctant Louisa to move into his house so he can help raise their son, and suggests they could all move to London together in the future. Martin then delivers the eulogy at his aunt Joan's funeral and speaks to her sister Ruth, who proves to be just as cantankerous as he is.

The Bill - Season 16 - Episode 29
Sgt. Boyden, DC Proctor and PC Hagen hit the streets of Sun Hill in the station's new "Crime Car", an unmarked rapid-response vehicle introduced as one of the Chief Super's initiatives. Borough Commander Mannion springs a surprise visit on Sun Hill, which unfortunately coincides with an electrical fault in CAD, a wrongful arrest by Proctor, and the impoundment and eventual destruction of the Crime Car.

Dave Quinnan arrives late after rowing with Jenny all night. Ever the troublemaker, Sgt. Boyden sends him out on patrol with Polly Page, Tony Stamp and Vicky Hagen. Quinnan and Page have trouble keeping their mind on the job, and this gets dangerous when Stamp is attacked by a gang of thugs on the DLR and Quinnan is nowhere to be seen. When Jenny leaves him and returns to Dublin, Dave starts to crack up. He puts on his uniform after his shift and goes on a vigilante mission to find the gang responsible for the attack on Stamp. DC Webb gets an anonymous call and finds some of the gang members tied up and sprayed with pepper spray.

PC Dave Quinnan returns to duty, and is determined to prove to everyone that he's back to normal after his breakdown. Out in a panda car, Quinnan sees a man shot in the head in a van - he calls for assistance, but by the time reinforcements arrive, the victim, the van and the main witness have disappeared. Desperate to prove his sanity, Quinnan pursues the case vigourously, and enlists the help of DC Paul Riley's brother Joe, who asks the wrong people the wrong questions. PC Polly Page is outraged by a practical joke played by PC Taviner, but she and Quinnan get their revenge in a most amusing way.

The Bill - Season 17 - Episode 79
Meadows is approached by a German lawyer, Eva Melchor, who has an interesting proposal from her client, a notorious armed robber named Paul Kerrigan. Kerrigan's sister Rene is dying, and provided he is allowed to see her one last time, he will not only turn himself in to Meadows, he will also identify members of the M25 gang, a vicious gang of armed robbers who have been terrorising London. True to his word, Kerrigan shops Kevin Lee, the gang's armourer, and a search reveals a cache of weapons in Lee's pet shop. With MIT and OCG eagerly awaiting Kerrigan's information, Meadows places Kerrigan in a safe house. When a series of car bombs distracts Carver and Worrell, Kerrigan escapes.

Summerdown Comp has merged with a rival school into Wattkins Comprehensive, and a ""us and them"" divide between staff and pupils. Bob starts a vendetta against his new boss Ewan, only to be humiliated. Claire, on the other hand, does everything she can to get Ewan's attention. The other newcomers, the cynical Damien and hypochondriac Ben, meanwhile, are labelled standoffish by Lindsay and Penny as they resist friendly gestures.

It is the annual Portwenn versus Port Carran gig race and school gig festival, and this time Penhale is the umpire and Morwenna is the Portwenn team captain. However, Morwenna is forced to find a replacement rower when Eric dislocates his finger. Meanwhile, Mel Hendy goes to see Martin at the surgery worried about a rash that could be infectious, but she ends up opening up to him about her concerns over her husband's drinking. Elsewhere, Martin and Louisa arrive home to find Chris Parsons waiting for them.

Bert is also being chased by loan sharks Alastair Tonken and his son Norman for the repayment of £1,000 they gave him to clear his debts, warning of repercussions if he doesn't pay up.

As Christmas draws near, the teachers, minus an absent Simon, attend the staff annual party. After Jenny tells Bob’s wife that he is very popular with the female staff, he gets lucky, over and over again. It appears that there is much Christmas spirit, as Liz tries sex with Kurt and is then disappointed with his small genitalia. Susan takes advice from Jenny and sleeps with Brian, who it turns out, is better than Kurt. Penny quickly jumps into bed with Simon’s replacement English teacher Matt, but is upset when she discovers that he is married with children. As they finish the term in the pub, Carol walks in after finishing with Errol and Kurt is delighted. The subject of their non-non-existant sex comes up and when asked why they haven’t yet done it, Kurt replies “We are saving ourselves”, to which everyone bursts out laughing.

Martin and Louisa search for a nursery now that Janice has left, and Mrs Tishell is shocked to find out that Al has very high blood pressure. This is not welcome news for Martin, who dislikes any kind of change, even if it could be for the better. Elsewhere, Ruth is approached about selling her farm. Susan seeks to escape the bedroom noises by going to Kurt and Brian’s flat only to find Kurt in Brian’s room as the sounds of J.P.’s tryst are hard to ignore as well. When word of Susan’s complaining gets back to Jenny, relations are further strained.

The results of the sergeants exams are in, and W.P.C. June Ackland has passed - but P.C. Gary McCann hasn't. As the relief organise a big night out in celebration of Ackland's promotion, McCann volunteers for night shift duty with P.C. Reg Hollis. Ch. Supt. Brownlow offers to pull some strings at Area to allow Ackland to stay as Sun Hill rather than transferring. Ackland politely invites Brownlow to the pub, and is horrified when he accepts. When Brownlow finally heads home, Dave Quinnan calls several minicabs to go out for a late night curry, but June and Polly are seperated when their cab driver makes off with their bags and warrant cards after being pulled over by a Stafford Row probationer, P.C. Oliver Oxley. Oxley is about to arrest them until the Stafford Row CAD officer vouches for June. June helps Oliver overcome bullying at his station, while they search for her missing bag. With the help of McCann, Hollis, and some Stafford Row officers, the cab driver is found and arrested.
