Marie threatens to expose Joan, demanding she help her escape. Dot accidentally scalds Mrs O'Reagan and herself with hot fat. Bobbie tells Marlene she was going to kill herself, but stole the wrong pills from the infirmary. Joan is informed that Ann has been reinstated.

The inmates attack Angel and take her to the shower block, where they cut off all her hair. Meg sees it and turns a blind eye. An intruder tries to break into Ann's flat.

The women decide on a waltz marathon as their record breaker for charity. Munroe wants money from Joan in return for giving up Shane: she says she'll see him in court. Myra tells Ann they are all terrified of Bev. Bev deliberately traps Dot in the cold room in the kitchen. Bev slashes Lou's arm to illustrate the sort of payoff she wants to become involved in the rackets. Bobbie escapes from the kitchen using a copy of Ray's key and the escape alarm goes off while she is half way over the fence.

Yemil refuses to see a lawyer and upon learning that the driver of the other car has died, she is devastated. Bobbie and Marlene quarrel over Matt's affections. Frank plans to start making his own booze in the garden and tries to force himself on Bobbie. Oh, and there's more rubbish with Aussie the cockroach but really, who cares?

A band travelling through Mt. Thomas cause a stir with the young people of the town, but Tom is worried by their presence. His fears appear to be confirmed when he discovers one of the station's vehicles defaced with images resonant of MCD. But that is only the beginning of the Heelers problems with the band. A vandalised angel in the cemetery relates to the band's signature song ""Bloodstained Angels"" and then a blazing car in the car park of the Commercial Hotel conjures up another line of lyrics from the same song.
