Two Ultra Guard scientists, Doctors Segawa and Maeno create a new devastating weapon -- the anti-planet device they christen the R-1. Even in its infancy, the R-1 is said to have the power of 8,000 Hydrogen bombs. With plans to build an even more deadly R-2 device, it is decided a test of the weapons capabilities will be done on the supposedly uninhabited Gieron star, a minor planet in some faraway galaxy. The test proves successful, but a giant flying creature doesn't take too kindly to its home being destroyed. Making its way to Earth, the monster attacks cities and emits radioactive ash. Ultraseven engages the beast in battle.

During a birthday party for a young woman named Ruriko, a alien known as Braco walks out of the ocean, kills her dog and makes off with the girl. Anne, who is attending the party, alerts her comrades. Searching for her missing friend, they find the monsters footprints, but no sign of the creature. The Ultra Guard eventually find Ruriko unconscious on the beach with a strange parasite attached to her arm. They discover to their horror that these spores can only grow and multiply inside of female host bodies. The only cure is Radiation Alpha 73, a special element found on Saturn. With but hours to save her and Anne both, Ultraseven and the Ultra Guard must face an assault by dozens of aliens before Seven can race to the ringed planet to retrieve the element required to save the two women.

A monumentally deadly snowstorm engulfs the Earth. The Ultra Garrison headquarters is frozen after a mysterious monster drills underground and breaches the walls of the base. Meanwhile, Dan Moroboshi is stranded in increasingly freezing temperatures. He loses his Ultra Eye in the blizzard and is attacked by the giant alien monster, Gandar. Unable to transform into Ultraseven, he sends one of his monster helpers to do battle. Meanwhile, Commander Kiriyama and the Ultra Force try to restore power to the base. During the monster battle, Moroboshi finds the Ultra Eye, but with a depleted solar power, he can't fight the monster. Ultraseven must then fly into the sun to replenish his energy leaving Miclas and the Ultra Hawks to fight Gandar alone.

Having spent six months in solitude aboard Space Station V3, Ishuguro returns to Earth for vacation. Escorting him home, Moroboshi spies the large, peculiar space rock. Using his telepathic powers, he recognizes it as being from another planet. Later that night, agent Ishuguro transforms into a blood-drinking plant creature. He roams the street killing passersby who eventually come back to life as plant monsters know as Alien Waiell who likewise spread the contagion.
