Meet Louise, a budding magician. The students at the Tristein Academy call her "Zero Louise", due to her current record of zero successes with magic. In fact, her magic tends to go spectacularly wrong. Now, as an important test of her aptitude for magic, she must summon a familiar to be her servant. At this critical moment, she summons up all her magic and wishes for a familiar that is "devoted, beautiful and powerful", and gets... Hiraga Saito, an ordinary Japanese boy. It's difficult to say who is more surprised and dismayed, but the rules don't allow for second attempts. Louise is stuck with her strange familiar, and he with her.

At the Magic Academy, a ball is held in celebration of Louise, Saito, and the others deeds in Romalia. Louise and Saito dance, and he expresses his wish to be with her forever, leading to a passionate kiss between the two. Meanwhile in Galia Tabitha uses an antidote given to her by Bidalsha to cure her mother. The following day, Siesta overhears how Tifa tried to kiss Saito and suggests to Louise that they should separate Saito from Tifa by buying a house were only he and Louise would live, and Louise agrees. Louise rejects all of Saito and Siesta’s choices, and becomes further irritated when Siesta reveals she too will be living with them. Things become worse for the girls when they discover Saito has become increasingly popular with women due to his heroic status, and so decide to hasten their efforts. Back in Galia, Tabitha is asked by her mother to become the new queen for both the country and her father’s sake. Three days later, Agnes brings Saito and Louise to Henrietta, who informs them that Tabitha will be Galia’s new queen and to reward Saito for his previous deeds with a portion of her territory. Saito, Louise, and Siesta arrive in their new land, Ornières, only to find that it is a forest and their mansion is old and decrepit, but stay anyway since it was a gift. That night, the trio is visited by Tabitha who reveals she will be moving in with them since she postponed her coronation.

Saito is on Louise's bed with Siesta and he starts making perveted comments in his sleep when Louise wakes up and explores the door and Tabitha appears to "protect him" then Mr.Colbert takes them to Romalia to see the queen Henrietta and the king appears and he invited them a feast, Louise gets mad with Saito and he walk out to Siesta room and Siesta talked how she fights like love rival's and then he went to find Louise when he heard her screaming. After Tiffania asked Colbert-sensei to teach her how to summon a Familiar. Saito ran and he fought 2 people that were thieves and Tiffania is learning how to summon a familiar when Saito is fighting he falls and comes through Tiffania's Familiar "portal" nothing really happened, and then they got back and Saito kissed Louise and then Tiffania comes in and Louise started to say that Saito forced her.

Having taken care of the love potion, a new problem arises again. This time, Princess Henrietta is to be wed to the Emperor of Germania for the sake of backing up the smaller country with a stronger power. In order to do so, a certain letter the princess sent to Prince Wales of Albion. If it is ever publicly revealed then the marriage would be impossible. At the moment, Albion is in a state of civil war, so Henrietta herself cannot see the prince. Therefore, Louise is sent with a message to Prince Wales requesting that the letter be retrieved. Guiche then enters, revealing that he had "accidentally" heard it all and would be willing to aid the princess. Much to both Louise and Saito's ire, Henrietta accepts Guiche's offer. On the day of departure, the escort arrives and is revealed to be Wardes, Louise's fiancé. A growing jealousy develops in Saito on the way to the port city of La Rochelle.

With the arrival of Wardes and Louise alone, they meet up with Prince Wales in a seemingly deserted church. After finishing up business, Wardes suggests to Louise that they should just get married right then. Confused and repulsed by the idea, Louise tries to refuse his offer, but one of Wardes' allies comes out with a mind-control ring, forcing her into agreeing. With the Prince as the minister, the marriage proceeds and is nearly completed until Saito bursts into the church. Snapping Louise out of her trance, Saito rushes to rescue her. In response, Wardes kills Prince Wales, revealing that he is in fact involved with the rebels fighting the government Albion called Reconquista.
#14 - A Maid's Crisis

Siesta is sold to a royal family from out of town, presumably to be a mistress to the head noble. Disgusted by the lack of regard that nobles have for commoners, Saito tries his best to rescue her, but with no avail. As Saito attempts to take on the noble by fighting, Louise and the others arrive just in time to prevent Saito's death. In an act of kindness, Kirche gives up her family treasure to make up for Saito's actions and win Siesta back. Before leaving the manor, Saito catches a glimpse of the family treasure, and is shocked to find that it is in actuality a rather old porno magazine from Earth.
#15 - Forbidden Magic Powder

It starts off with Siesta at the imp cafe with her uncle and cousin, Jessica, telling her to try harder at getting Saito, eventually giving her a love potion. After the credits, it goes to Saito and Louise’s room where Siesta is cleaning and contemplating using the potion on Saito when Louise comes in dragging Saito who is tied up behind. This causes a fight between Louise and Siesta about the treatment of Saito. Finally, Siesta who believes that she can take better care of Saito than Louise is allowed one hour for that purpose.
#16 - Return of the Hero
Season 3 - Episode 3 - Aired 7/21/2008
Tiffania travels back to Tristain with the group. While introducing herself to the Queen, she forced to remove her hat revealing a pair of long, pointed elf ears. Elves are shunned by civilized society, and she explains that she is in fact a half-elf. Her mother was an elf that passed away years earlier, and her father was the archduke of Albion and Henrietta's uncle. As the Queen, Saito, Louise, Agnes, and Tiffania discuss the whereabouts of the other void user(s), Henrietta offers to knight Saito again and he accepts. Henrietta also appoints Siesta as Saito's servant, much to Louise's frustration. Saito, Louise, and Siesta arrive back at the academy by dragon to a huge celebration in Saito's honor lead by the self-proclaimed Knights of Ondine, a group of students at the academy captained by Guiche.
#17 - Feverish Temptation

With his recent victory over Guiche, Saito has become semi-popular among the commoners and several nobles. Kirche in particular has chosen him as her next boyfriend. In a devious plan, she attempts to seduce him, although this fails when Louise finds out. Annoyed by Saito's lack of defenses, Louise drags him out to town to pick up a sword after considering his hidden talents. Kirche, unwilling to let go so easily, matches Louise's gift with a more impressive sword. Of course, it simply causes more problems between Saito and Louise.
#18 - Peasant Familiar
Season 1 - Episode 2 - Aired 7/10/2006
An abrupt departure from the normal life he once lead, Saito must deal with being Louise's familiar. Unhappy with the arrogance of nobles, Saito exposes Guiche's two-timing nature as an act of revenge. This of course, provokes Guiche into challenging him to a a duel. Despite being severely beaten up by Guiche's magic, Saito refuses to bow down. Impressed, Guiche tosses him a sword to even up the playing field. In a completely unexpected turn of events, the runes etched on Saito's hands begin to glow the moment he grasps the sword. Feeling a surge of energy, Saito manages to defeat Guiche. However, he soon collapses after the fight from fatigue.
#19 - Tristain's Princess
Season 1 - Episode 5 - Aired 7/31/2006
The yearly familiar exhibition is literally a day away and Louise is feeling rather depressed about it. Not only does Saito have nothing impressive to show off, but this year the Princess is watching as well, making it even more important. As night approaches, desperation sets in as Saito is unable to produce an act worthy of praise. A sudden mystery visitor turns out to be Princess Henrietta herself and her relationship with Louise is explained. The next day, Saito attempts a presentation only to be dragged off early by Louise. Walking away from the stage, they witness a robbery in progress by Fouquet and her earthen golem. Failing to stop her, Fouquet is able to run off with the fabled Staff of Destruction.
#20 - Louise's Part-Time Job
Season 1 - Episode 7 - Aired 8/14/2006
Having been concerned for the welfare of the commoners, Henrietta asks Louise and Saito to work undercover and figure out if what nobles are taking advantage of the lesser ranked commoners. Louise ends up wasting all of the money given to her for the mission on gambling in hopes of having enough to afford an expensive hotel. Refusing to ask for more money, Louise ends up working in a bar as a waitress. Unused to the brashness of a commoner's life, she is unable to earn any tips with her temper flaring all over the place. Her moment of salvation comes when a rather arrogant noble decides to enter the bar.
#21 - The Fairy of the Forest
Season 3 - Episode 2 - Aired 7/14/2008
While they are traveling to the village where Tiffannia is living, they meet up with Siesta who is carrying cooking supplies and food. At the same evening, while they were having dinner, Louise gets into another fight with Saito and walks off. Agnes, who was making a wooden sword, asked Saito to train a little bit. The next morning while they are traveling, Saito sees Tiffania and chases after her. At first she doesn't recognize Saito but after shouting her name a few times, she turns around and hugs him. Louise and Siesta are jealous when they see how big Tifannia's breasts are. The same evening Louise tries to ask who she is, and Saito explains that she saved him during his battle. Out of spite, Louise starts to fondle Tifannia's breasts. But when Saito stops her, Louise runs away and Siesta follows her. After forming a temporary alliance against Tiffania, the two get attacked by Sheffield.
#22 - Louise's Change of Heart

The lovey-dovey antics of Louise under the love potion persist to the point of freaking Saito out. In desperation, Saito demands that Montmorency create an antidote. She refuses to do so until Saito learns of the illegality of creating love potions and threatens her with possible arrest. As the antidote requires the tears of a water elemental, Montmorency leads Saito and Louise to Lake Lagdorian. There, they find Kirche, Tabitha, and a whole new problem.
#23 - The Familiar's Mark
Season 3 - Episode 1 - Aired 7/7/2008
Saito's runes disappear before his, Louise's and Siesta's eyes. While on a trip to the castle, they are attacked by Sheffield, who is revealed to be the familiar of an unseen Void mage that she refers to as "Master Joseph". After arriving at the castle, Saito is given a paper by the princess that would make him a knight and effectively a noble. He, however, turns it down on the issue that he does not believe he can protect the princess or Lousie without the familiar's contract. When asked about the disappearing runes, he tells them about the elf, whom he recalls as Tiffania. Derflinger tells them where they may find her so Louise and Saito prepare to depart. That night while worrying about recent events, Louise awakens to find Saito awake outside on the balcony. She tells him that she is afraid of him leaving again, especially with the disappearance of the runes.
#24 - The Alluring Girls' Bath
Season 3 - Episode 5 - Aired 8/4/2008
After the events of the last episode, Saito was forced, in his boxers, to read aloud and sign a pledge admitting that he took advantage of Tiffania in the infirmary. However, he refuses to sign it, insisting that it was she who asked him, and leaves. Upon seeing the shack where Professor Colbert kept his books and other materials, he entered and sadly remembered the teacher's wish to someday visit Saito's world. He apparently starts to doze off, but wakes up after hitting his head on the table. His attention then turns to the piles of gifts being left for Guiche and Reynald, and inquires as to their meaning, in which case, Reynald explains that gifts from the ladies are becoming more common after the fight with the Air Dragon Knights from the previous episode. With love seemingly in the air, Saito remembers the fight with Louise and becomes rather depressed. Upon seeing this, Guiche, Malicorne, and Reynald grow determined to cheer him up.
#25 - Tabitha's Secret
Season 1 - Episode 8 - Aired 8/21/2006
It's summer vacation and many students are traveling back to their families. Kirche goes along with Tabitha to her home on invitation, leaving Louise and Saito alone for once. However, mischief is still plentiful. Upset at Guiche's continued flirting with other girls, Montmorency creates a love potion and plots to have Guiche take it. Meanwhile, Saito obtains a large pot that was about to be thrown away and converts it into a makeshift hot tub, similar to the hot springs in Japan. While bathing in it at night, Siesta happens to pass by and much to Saito's embarrassment joins him. Seeing this, Louise becomes so frustrated that she interrupts Montmorency's plans by gulping the drink laced with the before mentioned love potion. As can be expected, when Saito returns to her room, Louise falls completely in love, causing many more problems.
