Never defeated, he's planning a counter-attack, albeit an ambitious one. Elsewhere, Paula and Dai's bumpy break-up takes an unexpected turn with the unhappy couple swapping traits - while Dai develops an unhealthy attachment to booze, his wife samples life as a sober singleton. (Mis)Guided by Peschman's spiritual teaching, Paula aspires to be a more generous person and offers to babysit Emma's son, only to fall off the wagon - well, the bus - and lose little Abrha on the way to his naming ceremony. Off the pitch, Rob and Stella try to rebuild their trust in one another, but the promising reunion is cut short by the surprise return of Sean, who has some eye-opening news. While Nadine and Karl plan to expand their family, Stella's is bursting at the seams once Zoe moves in, with Lenny continuing to pester the brood. It all kicks off on game day as Emma's pent-up anger with Sunil finally explodes, and Alan reveals the identity of Melissa's 'silent business partner'.

There's a rumble elsewhere in the valleys as Luke butts heads - and fists - with Lenny in the amateur boxing championship. Meanwhile, Big Alan's 'Save Our Pitch' campaign scores a vital try towards victory as Rob quibbles the morals of his property development project. Melissa, though, is willing to use any means necessary to ensure her silent partner stays schtum about his doubts.

Stella isn't enthusiastic about Luke's boxing career, either, and confronts Rob for wrongfully encouraging their son, but the debate only reignites sparks between the old lovers. Alan remortgages his house in an effort to raise funds for the rugby club, although the valiant gesture could work against him if Melissa follows through on her threat to apply for sole custody of Little Alan. Amid the chaos, Ben bravely asks his beloved Bethan out on a date, however her answer leaves him flummoxed.
