With Ethan and Theresa present, Chad tries to convince Whitney that the two of them can raise the child, and Whitney refuses to live a life of sin with her half-brother. Alone, Whitney breaks down over losing her son, but knows that giving him up is the best thing she can do for him. As Beth arrived to pick up Marty, Sheridan refused to allow Beth to see the boy. Beth tried to get to Marty herself, only to have Sheridan grab her and hold her back. Sheridan suddenly remembered the clowns, and refuses to let Beth see Marty, insisting he's her child. Alistair forces himself on Katherine with Gwen and Fox watching. Gwen begs Fox to help his grandmother, but when he does nothing, she attempts to help Katherine herself, and is pushed to the ground for her efforts. Luis again demands that Martin tell him exactly what Alistair had on him all those years ago, but Martin refuses to tell him, determined to protect Sheridan.

Alistair takes great pleasure in telling Gwen and Katherine that they are his permanent prisoners. He then tells the assorted group that Whitney has recently given birth and Martin has moved back home with Pilar, and Gwen is both shocked and disgusted at how little Fox cares about Whitney's son. Whitney refuses to reconsider putting her son up for adoption and when Chad tells her she's throwing her child in the garbage like Eve threw him out, she defends her mother and reminds him that Eve thought he was dead. Sheridan asks Julian to help her get Luis to back off Alistair. Luis is furious to learn Martin has moved back home.

Ethan is confused when Alistair tells him that Gwen, Fox, Katherine and the baby are out of the picture, and Alistair continues plotting his vengeance as he encourages Ethan to be with Theresa. Sheridan finds Alistair with Marty and demands he return her son. Alistair returns him but advises Sheridan that if Luis doesn't back off, Marty could be the one to suffer. At the compound, Gwen and Katherine are both shocked to find that Fox has no desire to return to his son, and Gwen comments that he is more selfish than Theresa has ever been. Whitney signs away not only her rights to the baby, but Fox' as well.

Gwen and Sheridan are horrified when they find Fox lying lifeless on a slab. Katherine mourns for her grandson, only to be shocked (along with Gwen) when he regains consciousness. A brief lapse in Sheridan's attention allows Alistair to grab his grandson and take off, leaving a frantic Sheridan wondering what happened to the boy. Whitney explains why she didn't tell Chad the truth, and admits she is as adamant as ever about giving up her son for adoption.
