A beautiful young girl named Gabriela and her uncle follow towards Ilhéus in search of a better life. Nacib, the owner of the local bar becomes furious to learn that his cook, Filomena, will leave Ilhéus. The Mayor Ramiro Bastos orders the priest to perform an holy procession to make rain fall in Ilhéus and stop the drought that threatens the local main product: cocoa.

Gabriela tries to reconnect with Nacib. Olga argues with Ezekiel. Mundinho Falcão starts a plan to take Gerusa out of the convent with the help of the federal deputy. Maria Machadão notes that Nacib is different and decides to have a conversation with him.

Season 1 - Episode 41 - Aired 8/24/2012

Zarolha's plan to break Nacib and Gabriela fails but she receives heart-warming news. Colonel Coriolano arrives home early and Josué is forced to hide in Gória's wardrobe. Fagundes and Clemente agree to keep Lindinalva safe. Doroteia tells Ramiro about Gerusa's dates with Mundinho. Colonel Jesuíno is warned about his upcoming trial. Gabriela tells Nacib that she can no longer be a "civilized" lady.

Tonico fakes his emotion to seduce Gabriela. Malvina and Gerusa outwit their families to spend the night with their boyfriends. Berto mistreats Zuleika. Doroteia discovers through Osório that Rômulo is married. Mundinho enlists the help of colonel Altino to escape with Gerusa. Doroteia tells Melk that Malvina is dating a married man.

#5 - Episode 39

Season 1 - Episode 39 - Aired 8/22/2012

Glória helps Josué to leave the house without letting her husband find out. Teodora tells Berto that his ex-fiance will leave Ilhéus with his own brother and Doroteia suggests a way to end their relationship. Gerusa tells Mundinho that Juvenal will leave Ilhéus and that she will be free to live with Mundinho. Berto and his thugs catch and brutally beat Lindinalva.

#6 - Episode 55

Season 1 - Episode 55 - Aired 9/19/2012

Juvenal suggests going to the Bataclã and ask Miss Pirangi about his lover. Malvina and Gerusa plan spending the night with their boyfriends without both their parents knowing. Nacib realizes Gabriela is happy again. Tonico visits Gabriela and gives her a gift that leaves Gabriela emotional.

Tonico invites Gabriela, Arminda and Tuisca to ride a car. Mundinho tells Ramiro that he will win the elections and marry Gerusa. Suspicious that Melk is Miss Pirangi's colonel, Doroteia, Florzinha e Quinquina talk to Marialva about her husband. Olga gossips around saying that colonel Melk is gay. Melk finds the origin of the rumors about him and goes to Amâncio's house to settle debts with Doroteia.

Zarolha advises Tonico to go to the circus and meet Gabriela. After the soiree, Gabriela goes to the circus without Nacib. Tonico offers a circus ticket to Gabriela, in order to grow closer to her. Lindinalva becomes aggressive towards Juvenal. Ramiro and Mundinho face one another and Mundinho Falcão tells the colonel that he can't control Gerusa's heart. Chico tells Nacib that Gabriela was at the circus.

#9 - Episode 52

Nacib imposes its authority over Gabriela and decides that they will go to poetry soiree. Tuisca is disappointed to learn that Gabriela will not see him perform. Doroteia plans to put Jesuíno in jail. Zarolha advises Gabriela to go to the circus after the poetry soiree. Gerusa and Mundinho plan to flee Ilhéus after her graduation. Zarolha tells Tonico how to seduce Gabriela.

#10 - Episode 51

Season 1 - Episode 51 - Aired 9/12/2012

Olga accuses Fabiana of seducing Tonico and Ramiro fires Fabiana. Fagundes tries to protect Lindinalva and teach Berto a lesson. Berto takes Lindinalva back to the Bataclã. Jesuíno misses Sinhazinha Gabriela and Tuísca plan a date at the circus. Nacib tells Gabriela he bought tickets to the poetry night and makes her come with him instead.

#11 - Episode 50

Season 1 - Episode 50 - Aired 9/11/2012

Ramiro, Melk and the other gunmen try to leave Nacib's house unnoticed. Josué fless from colonel Coriolano dressed as a woman and is caught by a familiar face. Tonico flirts with Fabiana and sets up a date. Doroteia encourages Berto to find out who is the gay colonel. Ramiro decides to intern Gerusa at a convent until she gives up on Mundinho. Berto discovers Lindinalva is alive. Olga catches Tonico and Fabiana together.

#12 - Episode 49

Season 1 - Episode 49 - Aired 9/7/2012

Gabriela shelters Fagundes at Nacib's house. Mundinho warns Douglas that the newspaper will continue to operate and asks him to rent a new location. Ramiro rescues Fagundes and thanks Gabriela for her favor. Nacib arrives home and Gabriela tries to disguise the situation.

#13 - Episode 48

Season 1 - Episode 48 - Aired 9/6/2012

Colonel Melk tells Ramiro Bastos that all the arrangements for the arson and Mundinho's hit are ready. Gerusa asks Malvina to warn Mundinho about his life risk. Fagundes asks Lindinalva in marriage, but she refuses. Ramiro presents Machadão with a ring and asks her to move with him to his cocoa farm. Fagundes fails to hit Mundinho and runs from Ilhéus policemen. Gabriela makes a difficult choice to save a friend.

Ramiro insists that Gerusa will marry Juvenal, but she remains in love with Mundinho. Colonel Melk warns Rômulo that he wants to rush Malvina's wedding. Teodora asks Berto to find out who is Miss Pirangi's secret lover. After making himself clear about not wanting Gerusa to marry Mundinho Falcão, Ramiro tells on of his thugs to finish Mundinho, once and for all.

#15 - Episode 46

Iracema succeeds to show trick Jesuíno about her virginity. Fagundes and Clemente offer shelter to Lindinalva. Mundinho suspects that Ramiro is responsible for a crime and tells Douglas to report it in the newspaper. Ramiro orders Gerusa to marry Juvenal. Ramiro sends Melk to set fire to the newspaper building and scare colonel Altino. Arminda realizes that Zarolha is trying to poison Gabriela against Nacib. Gerusa rejects Juvenal's wedding proposal in front of the whole family.

Ramiro decides to spare Mundinho's life. Zarolha tries to poison Gabriela against Nacib and Arminda suspects that Zarolha doesn't like Gabriela. Maria Machadão declares herself to Ramiro and states that she is willing to give up the Bataclã for him. Mundinho warns Gerusa that she will have to face his grandfather. Berto shows interest in Zuleika and invites her and her family for dinner. Coriolano asks Josué who is the woman he is having an affair with. Iracema gets ready for her wedding night with Jesuíno.

#17 - Episode 44

Ramiro realizes that Sandra and Anabela planned a scam and kidnaps them to teach them a lesson. Gerusa asks Mundinho to talk to her grandfather and end their rivalry. Jesuíno testifies at the police station about the murder of Sinhazinha and Osmundo. After knowing what Ramiro did to his friends, Mundinho goes to the colonel's house to argue with him.

The dinner at Ramiro Bastos' house takes a funny turn. Malvina mistreats Josué, who seeks comfort next to Glória. Fabiana sees Tonico approaching Gabriela, and blackmails her boss asking for a dress. Lindinalva says to Fagundes and Clemente that Juvenal sent his brother to kill her. Nacib scolds Gabriela for her behavior. Sandra surprises Anabela with Ramiro and threatens to kill them both.

Nacib forbids Gabriela from dancing in the streets. Arminda promises to help Iracema fake her virginity. Ramiro sends his son Alfredo to watch Gerusa, and threatens to send his granddaughter to a convent if she meets with Mundinho. The Bataclã girls become curious to know who is Miss Pirangi's colonel. Anabela tells Sandra that Ramiro is falling for their scam. Jesuíno rushes the wedding with Iracema. Gabriela has dinner at Ramiro Bastos' house.

Maria Machadão becomes enfuriated to learn that Lindinalva has fled from Ilhéus. Juvenal starts a campaign to find Lindinalva. Zarolha continues to poison Nacib against Gabriela. Fagundes and Clemente discover Lindinalva's body. Gabriela meets with the Catholic women at the church meeting. Nacib goes out to look for his wife but is unable to find her.

Doroteia invites Gabriela to the church meeting. Zarolha seduces a colonel and arranges a way to leave Bataclã as a lady. Lindinalva tells her plan to Miss Pirangi but Teodora listens to every word of it. Colonel Ramiro sets a date with Anabela, the exotic dancer, leaving Maria Machadão jealous. Zarolha starts her plan to break Gabriela and Nacib.

Doroteia refuses to support colonel Manoel and colonel Coriolano promises to help his friend. Gabriela tries to get closer to Nacib. Nacib receives the new cook at his bar. Colonel Melk warns Malvina that he was chosen a groom for her. Coriolano reveals a big secret about Doroteia.

Nacib resists Gabriela's charms. Juvenal supports Amâncio's decision to go to the farm. Miss Pirangi decides to stay at the Bataclã to take care of the girls when Maria Machadão departures. Juvenal and Lindinalva leave to Salvador. Ramiro asks the judge to close Jesuíno's case. Mundinho tries to take Gerusa out of the convent.
