Rogue magazine centerfolds are being kidnapped so V.I.P. is hired to guard the remaining centerfolds at the mansion and find the missing ones. Val feels it's her fault when the first one is kidnapped because it's right out of her commercial for V.I.P. All the models stay at the mansion so when Quick sees one leaving suspiciously he and Tasha follow her to a hotel only to discover she's there with her husband because they never had a honeymoon. So Quick and Tasha wait outside the door when two gunmen create a diversion by opening fire on them. When the gunmen leave Tasha and Quick check the room and find the model kidnapped and her husband knocked out on the ground. Val and Kay find out that the kidnappers are copying scenes from movies to kidnap the models. When Val and Kay go to tell the rest of the team Val gets kidnapped in the process. During a mission Darien gets a back injury, and the Official refuses to pay for treatment. Seeking out an accupuncturist, Darien inadverently reveals he can become invisible. On his next visit, the accupuncturist, Charlene, inserts needles that allow her to use electricity to put Fawkes in agony if he doesn't obey her. She needs a rare set of mystical needles to cure her mentor, and Darien to steal them. He succeeds, but the needles have ""bad chi"" because the original owner, a millionnaire, stole them. The millionnaire has to be killed to eliminate the bad chi, but Charlie can't do it without gaining bad chi. So she forces Darien to try. Needing Counteragent, Fawkes manages to leave a clue so that the Agency can follow them, and prevent the murder.
Giles faces off with Willow, but she drains him of his powers. This much power causes her to feel all the suffering in the world, so she decides to end it — the world, that is.

Buffy and Riley have to work out their relationship given their new understanding of what they do. An earthquake rocks Sunnydale and Buffy worries that it could signify the end of the world. They find out about a group of demons who are in town collecting sacred items which together have the power to end the world. When the plans of the demons are uncovered, the gang must return to their former sanctum inside the dilapidated Sunnydale High School (the library) to stop the Hellmouth from opening.
