It's Leo's birthday, but he doesn't feel like celebrating at all. Of course, his friends don't want to accept this and plan a big surprise for him. How will the unpredictable Leo react? On this day, the Red Ribbon Club has no idea that one of its members is about to undergo a high-risk operation.

The red ribbon club is finally complete: Leo is the leader, Jonas is the second leader, Toni is the smart one, Alex is the handsome one, Hugo is the good spirit and Emma is the girl! In the hope of convincing Leo that he must not give up and must continue to fight his illness, the friends decide to go on a secret excursion through the hospital on a stormy night with a very special purpose. How will Leo react? And what if they are caught on their unauthorised night-time foray through the hospital?

Leo's friends were able to convince him to undergo further chemotherapy. They promise him that someone from the club will always be with him. But this promise is not so easy to keep: Emma reaches her limits when she wants to stand by Leo's side. How will Leo react to the fact that she has let him down in this situation? The other club members are also facing major difficulties. Hugo's mother learns that her son, a coma patient, is at risk of being transferred to another ward, away from his new-found friends. Alex, whose diagnosis is still unclear, is allowed home for one night. But contrary to expectations, this supposed freedom is very hard on him. And Toni gets a new room-mate, Oskar. A boy who appears to have been the victim of domestic violence. Toni resolves to help Oskar. But Toni himself is confronted by the youth welfare office, which questions whether his grandad is still the right carer for him because of his accident. The Red Ribbon Club forges a plan to help Toni!

Nobody seems to be able to help him. In the meantime, Jonas receives a visit from his father, who gives him some unexpected and sad news. He finds comfort in Emma - and the two grow closer.
