Edoardo goes out for leave. Filippo gives the razor blade to the director, but Paola is unable to make him reveal who he wanted to defend himself from. Ciro learns that it was Filippo who stole the razor blade. Pino wants to teach him a lesson, but Ciro seems to have something else in mind for Chiattillo. Pino gets jealous of Ciro's attentions towards Filippo and this alarms him. Philip takes the bait thrown by Ciro and accepts his protection. Carmine warns him: the friendship that Ciro is offering him is called "belonging to the system": one is indebted for every favor received. Carmine is right and in fact Ciro asks Filippo for proof of courage to obtain his protection. Gemma enters the feminine and Viola begins to circumvent her with her manipulative art. After all, what is better for a victim like Gemma than a ruthless executioner like Viola?

Filippo returns to the Institute after completing the operation and tries to get closer to Carmine. Edoardo writes a beautiful poem inspired by Teresa, to try to participate in a competition and obtain a prize permit. Viola is skilled in maneuvering Gemma and pushes her towards the boyfriend who she herself tried to kill to avenge her sister.
