Iceland plays host to Ali and the narrowing field of nine enthusiastic bachelors. The winner of a poetry contest to woo Ali gets to spend the day exploring Reykjavik with her, and this sincere bachelor shares some life-altering circumstances with her that changed his outlook on life. The dreaded two-on-one date pits Justin against Kasey, two bachelors who loathe each other.

Season 5 - Episode 3 - Aired 6/1/2009
Jillian rappels down the exterior of L.A.'s Bonaventure Hotel on a one-on-one dated and also attends a wrap party for western movie. After some late-night canoodling, there is a heated confrontation between two bachelors before the rose ceremony. In the end, only 13 men are left.

Season 2 - Episode 2 - Aired 1/21/2004
We begin at the Bachelor's Pad, where Chris calls the men together and tells them there will be two group dates and one one-on-one date. Chris goes on to explain the White Rose, and that Rick has earned the first one-on-one date. The men watch their first video invitation, where they learn who is going on the first group date with Meredith. First Group Date: ATV Riding With: Marcus, Brad, Matthew, Chad, Ryan M., Sean and Harold Meredith arrives and picks the men up, and takes them to a helicopter, where they ride out to the desert for a day of ATV riding. Everyone ends up covered in mud, and Matthew admits he's drawn to Meredith. The group freshens up in a luxury bus, and the men begin to spend private time with Meredith out at a ""desert oasis"" that has been set up for them. Season 5 - Episode 2 - Aired 5/25/2009
The remaining 20 bachelors settle into their new house. One lucky bachelor goes on a date with Jillian where they are serenaded by Martina McBride. Group dates include a trip to Venice Beach, where guys play basketball with the Harlem Globetrotters and a pool party, followed by a race across L.A. During elimination, the men get to vote on whom they would like to see go. The field of men is pared down to 16.

Season 5 - Episode 5 - Aired 6/15/2009
Jillian and her 10 remaining bachelors head to the British Columbia resort town of Whistler as Jillian wonders if some of the guys have girlfriends. But the dating goes on: snowmobiling for eight guys, and one-on-one zip-trekking and ski-plane adventures capped by romantic dinners (and, in one case, a soak in a hot tub). At the rose ceremony, Jillian reduces the field to eight.

Jillian and the eight remaining bachelors take a train trip across western Canada, stopping at Emerald Lake, Lake Louise and Banff. There is another make-or-break date with two guys and later one bachelor sneaks into Jillian's private care. At the rose ceremony, three more men are sent packing.

Season 5 - Episode 7 - Aired 6/29/2009
Jillian visits the hometowns of the five remaining bachelors. She fears that one guy's family might disapprove of her and wonders if the can meet another family's expectation. Still unresolved is the someone-has-a-girlfriend issue. Before she eliminates a bachelor at the rose ceremony, two guys have a big confrontation in her presence.

Jillian and the final four bachelors head to Spain. The overnight dates include flamenco in Madrid and a picnic in Seville and also overnight dates in the fantasy suites. At the rose ceremony, one more guy is sent home.

In the season premiere, we meet the Bachelorette, Trista, and learn about her past, who she is, and what makes her so special. Trista then hosts a cocktail party and is introduced to the 25 men hoping to become her husband for the first time. By the end of the evening, she faces the daunting task of selecting 15 whom she would like to know better, and presents each one with a single red rose. But at this point and at every point thereafter, the men can either accept or decline the Bachelorette's invitation to continue on the journey. After much deliberation, Trista offered a rose to Russell, Greg T., Ryan, Brian C., Brook, Michael, Brian S., Jack, Charlie, Josh, Brian H., Jamie, Rob, Jeff, and Bob. The men who accepted the rose will now move into a bachelor pad for much of their courtship with the Bachelorette.
