The series follows the life of Serbian underworld leader and drug lord Petar Maraš, who is so deeply entangled that there is hardly any way out. After purchasing land on the planned route of the "South Stream" pipeline for supplying Western Europe with Russian gas, he attempts to save himself and his crew by blackmailing the state. However, it soon becomes clear that Maraš must make much riskier moves to ensure that he, his family, and his friends survive the war imposed on them by the leader, Red. In short, the story becomes even more complicated as the criminal underworld increasingly affects characters who are not directly involved.

The time they spend with their loved ones and performing regular business duties only briefly creates an illusion of a normal life for Maraš, Car, and Baća. Events over which they have less and less influence quickly pull them back to reality—especially Car, who realizes that one cannot escape the past. Sofija also feels the influence of the past when she finds herself at the center of a political scandal during a night out.

While preparing with Car's help to finally make his first move and seek allies in the upcoming conflict, the death of journalist Bojana flings open the doors to new problems that will descend upon the unaware Maraš, his "Mirijevo crew," and his family. As the trail of blood slowly enters the National Assembly, the battlefield becomes crowded with yet another interest group, whose control center is located far beyond the borders of Serbia.

After meeting with the most powerful bosses of the Serbian underworld, Maraš realizes that only the weakest are by his side, while among the others hides the man who will take his place. News of Maraš's intention to come after him reaches Red and the alliance he belongs to very quickly. Sensing the beginning of the end, Maraš and Car primarily want to ensure the safety of their families.

Just when he thought the situation couldn't get any worse, Maraš receives news that further distances him from the hope that the risk he took by going to Kosovo will pay off. In preparation for the upcoming negotiations, he is distracted by the fact that Sofija has been acting on her own behind his back the whole time, while Baća's behavior is becoming increasingly risky.

After successfully returning a stolen car to its owner for a ten-thousand-euro ransom, Maraš spots the latest Mercedes model on the street and decides to steal it, unaware that it belongs to the drug mafia and is full of drugs. At the same time, the car is being expected by Golub (Nebojša Glogovac), a criminal from Belgrade who collaborates with the police.

Although it appears that her plan, despite the difficulties she encounters, is moving in the desired direction with the help of Lazar and Jovana, Sofija has no idea that an intruder has appeared on her path toward the final goal. Red's position is becoming increasingly unstable, which does not affect his need to continue the hunt for Maraš, who in turn hopes that a new acquaintance will secure his return to Serbia.
