Hugo travels to Italy with his girlfriend Sophie and their daughter Suus. Suus is allowed to stay with her best friend Chrissie, who has been living with her parents Marius and Kitty on a well-run vineyard for some time. Hugo thinks the Milners have turned their lives around, but when they arrive, it turns out that the Milners have bought the farm in a not-so-clean way.

Hugo fears that Marius and Kitty will end up in a mafia war and tries to persuade them to sell the vineyard back to Isabella Garboni, the daughter of the previous owner. But then Marius finds out that this mafia threat is probably grossly exaggerated. Or is it?

#3 - Equal crossing

Season 4 - Episode 3 - Aired 1/26/2024

Hugo is at a loss as Sophie appears to have been kidnapped. Who is behind it, Isabella or the mafia, they do not know. There is nothing else to do: the Milners will have to sell the vineyard back anyway. With great difficulty, they try to make a deal with the kidnappers, but Hugo is afraid that Sophie has already been liquidated.

Hugo insists that Marius go into hiding while he looks at his financial problems. Meanwhile, the police are taking an interest in the odd friendship between a tax official and an ex-con.

Abdu is apparently willing when Marius asks him to help find another hiding place. Hugo, who is hot on the money trail, freaks out when he realises the police have been tapping phones.

With Marius's life and Hugo's job on the line, extreme measures are called for, but the police are tightening the noose around them.
