I'm a star - get me out of here! (often referred to as ‘Jungle Camp’) is a reality show that originated in the United Kingdom. Ten to eleven public figures, mostly celebrities who have not appeared in public for a long time and so-called B-list celebrities, live under constant observation for a fortnight in a so-called jungle camp in Australia, similar to the Big Brother format. The title of the programme falsely suggests that the show participants want to escape from the supposed jungle as quickly as possible, but actually refers to the ‘call for help’ with which the celebrities can refuse to take part in the jungle trials or even drop out of the programme directly.
