Hannah and Larry Overton were devout Christians, faithful missionaries and doting parents of four children. Their lives seemed content until they met a little foster child named Andrew, who needed a loving family, and they say immediately stole their hearts. But after only four short months of living with his new “forever family,” little Andrew died of salt intoxication. At trial, Andrew's foster mother, Hannah, who the media dubbed “Salt Mom,” was found guilty of killing Andrew with a lethal dose of salt, and she was sentenced to life in prison. But the story doesn’t end there. After serving seven years, Hannah’s conviction was reversed by the Court of Criminal Appeals for Ineffective Assistance of Counsel, and ultimately the charges against her were dismissed. Now free and back home with her husband and children, questions remain about the day Andrew died, the manner of his death and what prosecutors claimed was evidence of abuse and neglect. Dr. Phil digs deep to find the answers to the mystery surrounding Andrew’s death. Was Hannah a mom wrongfully accused or did something more sinister happen?

Daniel says he and his ex, Lynsey, are caught in a contentious custody battle, filled with lies and accusations, and their 4-year-old daughter is caught in the middle. Daniel claims that he refused to marry Lynsey once learning she was pregnant, that she told him the child was not his and she then gave birth without telling him. Daniel says he filed for paternity and when their child turned 3, he received unsupervised visitation with her. That’s when he says Lynsey started accusing him of molesting their little girl – and that Lynsey recorded videos where she claims that her daughter admits to being molested by Daniel, videos that Daniel says only prove that Lynsey coached their daughter to lie. The court ultimately ruled that Daniel should keep custody and Lynsey should be given one-and-a-half years of supervised visitation. But now, Lynsey is allowed supervised overnight visits with Sophie, and Daniel says he’s concerned that she will lie to Sophie about him and that Lynsey’s “instabilities” will affect Sophie. Lynsey claims that Daniel begged her to abort their daughter when she told him that she was pregnant and that the first three years of their daughter’s life, Daniel rarely saw their child. Lynsey also claims that after an overnight visit with Daniel in December 2014, her daughter came home saying Daniel hurt her – and that she hired a therapist who convinced her that their daughter was sexually abused. Lynsey says now she gets two phone calls per week with her daughter for a few minutes at a time – and claims Daniel is unwilling to support a relationship between her and their daughter. Marty vehemently denies harming her son and says there is a medical explanation for her son’s injuries, that does not involve abuse of any kind. Angelo, who says he feels his mother doesn’t love him, says he doesn’t know what to do when she comes after him. Angelo presents Dr. Phil with dramatic evidence of Victoria’s behavior at home and the devastating words she screams at him. Is the domestic violence in this home the result of an out-of-control teen, or an angry mother who has even called herself “a bad parent”? Dr. Phil tries to get to the real root of the problem. Then, Dave Navarro of the band Jane’s Addiction was only 15 years old when his mother, Connie, was murdered by an ex-boyfriend. Cory, who had two children prior to meeting Elizabeth, says when he first met Elizabeth he told her that he is the “king of his castle” and that if she wanted to be “queen,” she has to listen to her “king.” Elizabeth says Cory’s dominant personality is what instantly drew her to him, and after only knowing each other for three weeks, Elizabeth moved into Cory’s home, and she claims that’s when the “Cory knows best” rules started, along with, she alleges, physical and verbal abuse. Cory absolutely denies Elizabeth’s allegations and, according to Cory, when he met Elizabeth, she was an “addicted mess,” and he “saved” her. Cory also claims he had to put strict rules in place to keep her safe and says he’s the best thing to ever happen to Elizabeth. According to Elizabeth, Cory monitors and screens her Facebook page, emails, and phone records. She also claims that he must also approve of her friends – and that she has lost 30 so far – that he doesn’t allow her to talk to any males, and that Cory must pick out Elizabeth’s lingerie. Jonni says she searched every day for 10-12 hours for her daughter and wanted her husband there with her -- but Ronnie says he works 40-60 hours a week and can’t spend all his time trekking through the woods looking for Christina.
