After running into Susan and Kristen at the mall, Vivian is humiliated after Susan blabs to a clerk that Vivian is broke forcing the clerk to revoke her purchases and close her charge account. In the midst of Sami and Austin’s wedding plans, Kate finds herself desperately wanting to stop the event but knows Sami will make known her call girl days to all of Salem. Lucas thumbs through Will’s baby book and is taken aback when he sees a shocking piece of information. Immediately after pouring his heart out to Carrie, Mike realizes she has slept through the whole thing. Later, while out flagging down help, Mike and Carrie are unaware a rattlesnake has slithered its way into their cabin. John tells a terrified Marlena of Stefano’s proposition and informs her the only way they can be sure if he’s telling the truth is for him to accompany Stefano on the journey to get the cure.

Bo begins to get suspicious as Billie tries to convince him she doesn’t want to return to Salem because she is much happier in Rome. Meanwhile, Stefano tempts Hope by saying he can help her get back together with Bo. Although she refuses his offer, she is curious as to what his motive is. While being questioned by John, Celeste admits to having a premonition of Stefano being freed from jail by one of his enemies. Later, John visits Stefano who threatens him by telling him he holds Roman’s life in his hands.

Sami manages to fool Eric into buying her amnesia and convince him that she’s actually in great pain over the events in her life. Seeing Carrie and Mike in a seemingly intimate moment, Austin remembers what he overheard Carrie telling Roman and decides to pocket the annulment papers. Thinking he saw Travis, Jack searches for him but then later dismisses the idea he may seen him. Later, "Trent" goes to visit Jennifer not knowing Jack is just upstairs.

John toils over whether or not to release Stefano from prison realizing the situation is a double-edged sword that may or may not save Roman’s life. Carrie lovingly tends to Mike’s rattlesnake bite and then is able to get him to a doctor. Later, Carrie decides to call Austin and is shocked when Sami tells her she and Austin are renewing their wedding vows.

Angry over being rejected by John, Kristen turns her attention to Lexie in an attempt to make her think she’s capable of being just as evil as Stefano. Later, Kristen is terrified when she learns John and Marlena are entertaining the idea of telling Roman about the love they share. Bo receives a promising lead concerning Billie but unfortunately he’s too late and a dollar short. Carrie witnesses Sami take comfort in Austin’s arms after hearing Roman is dying. Needing comfort herself, Carrie turns to Mike.

While trying to avoid Bo witness her go through withdrawl, Billie tries to stay away from him and ends up running into Max. Seeing Kristen pressure John to release Stefano from prison, Hope puts her two cents in by telling John she’ll tell Abe what he’s thinking of doing. Lucas worries Sami made the wrong decision in telling Carrie she’s going to marry Austin. However, Sami is convinced Carrie won’t be able to make it back in time for the wedding. Hurt over Austin and Sami, Carrie thinks there’s more to the situation than meets the eye and is determined to get back to Salem for the wedding.

While sharing memories of Roman with Eric, Sami begins to open up and vows she will never lose Austin. Kate tries to convince Austin to tell Sami and Carrie about the annulment but Austin refuses, thinking Mike and Carrie are now together. However, his secret may be uncovered when Sami goes snooping around and almost happens upon the annulment papers. After hearing Marlena lament she cannot attend a bacteria conference in Los Angeles that could help Roman, Carrie offers to go. Delighted, Marlena suggests she take Mike with her. Kristen gets wind of a lunch date between John and Marlena and maneuvers quickly to ruin their plans.

While at the hospital getting her blood test, Sami decides to take advantage of her proximity to medical records and change Will’s blood type. Later, Austin catches her entering information into the computer. Desperately trying to get back to Salem for the wedding, Mike and Carrie board a train and Mike toys with the idea of telling Carrie how he feels. Depsite Jack’s reservations, Jennifer insists on going to the prison to visit him. Later, Jack cautions her if Peter is still alive, he will most likely come for her. Bo continues his search for Billie not knowing she is on the verge of being arrested with Max.

Bo finally catches up to Max and learns Billie is hooked on drugs again. After berating Max, he heads out to find her. Carrie arrives in Salem and confronts Austin about marrying Sami. Despite the fact he loves Carrie deeply, Austin remains convinced he made the best decision for everyone. Kate offers Sami a ton of cash and family jewels to give up on Austin for good. Mike confides in Laura he’s in love with Carrie and plans on telling her after Austin and Sami marry.

As her wedding day arrives, Sami is secretly overjoyed she has pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. Eric however, senses Sami is up to something and confides in Roman. Carrie is devastated to learn Austin doesn’t plan on backing out of his marriage to Sami. Lexie visits Stefano determined to find some good in him and he decides to take advantage of her weakness. Later, he tells Lexie he is trying to amend things by finding a cure for Roman

Ivan is upset with Vivian after discovering she’s blown their rent money on one meal. Later, Ivan tells her they are going to have raise more money by going to work. Wanting to tell Carrie about the annulment, Austin calls Carrie’s hotel and is shocked when Mike’s college buddy tells him how close Mike and Carrie are. After Roman suffers a heart attack, Kristen worries he’ll die and John and Marlena will be free to reunite. Marlena however, is able to save his life and Kristen’s worries momentarily dissolve.

Knowing Sami and Austin’s wedding is a sham, Roman attempts to help the situation out by faking a collapse allowing Carrie more time to dig information up on Sami. Mike is in turmoil when Eric and Carrie show up at the hospital looking to bust Carrie knowing if he were to help them, he might lose Carrie forever. Confident Stefano will do the right thing if released, Lexie tells John Stefano’s jail cell code. Later, Abe discovers John and Lexie in cahoots and is hurt they betrayed him.

Sami is on the verge of telling Lucas he is Will’s father but refrains after learning Carrie knows nothing of the annulment. Trying to play on Austin’s heartstrings, Sami tells him she and Will are moving out. While continuing his search for Billie, Bo is paired up with an attractive female partner who reminds him of Hope. Wanting to return to Salem as soon as possible, Bo becomes even more determined to locate Billie. While out to dinner with Jack, Jennifer, and Franco, Hope decides to move forward with her life and asks Franco to join her in a dance. Vivian is excited at the prospect of landing a job at a cosmetics firm but her hopes are shattered when the executives of the company see her washing dishes at the Penthouse Grill.

Wondering if she’s starting to care for Franco, Hope surprises herself when she jumps to his defense after Eric insults him. Meanwhile, Bo and Petra work around the clock to locate Billie not knowing Max and King have successfully made her dependent on drugs once again. Kate catches wind of Sami’s new plot to gaslight Austin and threatens to expose her. Once again, Sami reminds Kate of the incriminating material she has on her.

Eric is quick to let Roman know it was Marlena who saved his life during the heart attack but Marlena warns him that she and Roman won’t be getting back together. Desperate to track down Stefano, John and Abe devise a plan to trap him using Kristen as an unknowing accomplice. Having thrown back a few beers with Lucas, Austin opens up to him by telling him he is worried he’s turning into his father. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Mike and Carrie paint the town as Mike’s feelings for her grow.

Sami plants a tape of Will crying in Austin’s apartment causing Austin to start worrying he is turning into his father by abandoning his son. Thinking he could have misperceived the situation, Austin decides to try Carrie in her hotel room one last time and is hurt when the clerk tells him Carrie and Mike have gone out for the evening. After hearing Kate tell Lucas Will has his eyes, Sami realizes she’s going to have to go to the hospital to change Will’s blood type records. While out on the town with Mike, Carrie decides to check her messages at the hotel and is disappointed to learn Austin hasn’t called. After capturing Stefano, John brings him in front of Roman to show him the threat is over. However, he and Marlena cringe wondering whether or not Stefano will spill the beans about their relationship.

Desperately trying to fight her addiction, Billie finds herself wandering into the club where King told her she could buy drugs. Meanwhile, Bo doesn’t even want to consider the possibility Billie could be hooked on drugs again. Travis becomes desperate after being unable to contact Stefano and decides to take matters concerning Jennifer into his own hands. Sami reveals to Kate the dirt she has on her - not only did she use to be a call girl but she is also employing Franco!

Knowing Shawn-D isn’t happy about the growing relationship with his mother, Franco attempts to get on his good side by saying he’ll help him with his soccer game. Meanwhile, Hope decides to put away her pictures of Bo. Despite sharing a day at the beach with Mike, Carrie still can’t help but be bothered by the fact Austin hasn’t called her. Kate feels confident that Sami doesn’t have proof of the allegations against her but later Sami overhears Kate on the phone confirming her beliefs. Bo makes his way to Club Fortuna completely unaware Billie is there trying to fight her urge to buy more drugs.

Knowing Sami has the goods on her, Kate decides to unselfishly risk her own happiness for the sake of Austin’s happiness. Meanwhile, Austin becomes increasingly convinced Mike and Carrie belong together. Still in Los Angeles, Mike and Carrie hear of a doctor who could possibly help Roman. After setting out to find him in the rain, Mike accidentally loses control of the car. Jack is nervous as the day of his trial arrives. Despite the fact Jennifer is optimistic, Jack says good-bye to Abby thinking he may never see his daughter again.

Season 32 - Episode 135 - Aired 8/15/1997

Knowing Jack’s exoneration depends heavily on the testimony of Kristen, John and Marlena attempt to sway her. However, Kristen secretly feels there’s no way she can go against Stefano’s word. Later, Kristen is shocked when Stefano informs her Roman isn’t dying. Meanwhile, Austin is extremely affected after he hears Roman admit remorse over never being able to witness one of his daughters walk down the aisle. Having encountered a horrible rainstorm, Mike and Carrie’s car skids off the road leaving Carrie unconscious and Mike desperately trying to pull her out of the car. With Bo nearby, Billie is unable to resist her craving for more drugs and makes a purchase from Dino.

Unaware she is on drugs, Bo finally catches up to Billie in Rome and is surprised when she refuses to return to Salem with him. Kristen and Stefano lie their way through Jack’s trial refusing to admit Peter is still alive. Later, the verdict is in and Jack is sent to serve a life sentence in prison. Kristen demands to know from Stefano if there really is a cure for Roman’s disease. Stefano refuses to tell her, promising if she holds her horses, she just may be able to reunite with John. Mike manages to pull an unconscious Carrie from the car and carry her to a nearby hut. Later, Carrie begins to shiver uncontrollably and Mike knows he must warm her with his body heat.
