Set in the fictional college town of Hilltowne, Charmed follows the lives of three sisters, Macy, Mel and Maggie Vera who, after the tragic death of their mother, discover they are three of the most powerful witches of all time.
#1 - Pilot

After the tragic death of Mel and Maggie’s mother, the sisters struggle with moving forward but face another huge shock when they learn they have an older sister, Macy. With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others’ thoughts and Macy has telekinetic powers. While trying to understand their new powers, Harry Greenwood, gathers the sisters and reveals they’re actually powerful witches, as was their mother. He also lets them in on a little secret, he’s not really a professor, he’s their “Whitelighter,” a witch’s advisor and guide. The sisters must make the decision to accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones…and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among us…one of whom killed their mother.

Meanwhile, this new sisterly unit is not fully unified, with Mel and Macy struggling with who’s the real big sister and Maggie caught in the middle.

With the instruction of Harry, the sisters are put through witch lessons, so they are able to properly practice their magic. However, when Macy learns of a mysterious death in her lab from Galvin, she informs her sisters and together, they devise a plan to suss out the demon. Trying to speed the plan along, Mel uses her magic irresponsibly leaving Harry no choice but to constrain her, which creates tension between them. Meanwhile, Maggie continues to struggle at balancing her two worlds – her sorority one and her witch one – especially after she volunteers to throw a Halloween party at her house.

Across the country in Philadelphia, an unsuspecting young woman...is living her life...mechanic by day, muralist by night...when she's suddenly thrust into a new world, coming face to face with the women she's inexplicably seen in her dreams. Just as Mel, Maggie and Harry are uncovering information about this mysterious new person, Josefina goes missing on her way to a pixie-pledging ceremony, and Mel and Maggie must rely on their "new third" to help their cousin...and find out if she is indeed the other Charmed One that they were told was "out there somewhere".

Meanwhile, Mel is given a task by The Elders that she was not expecting.
