#1 - Nichijou: My Ordinary Life
Life in a small city needn't be boring. Not when your city is home to a host of deeply odd people. Granted some residents, like high-school buddies Mio and Yuko, are fairly normal. Yuko is a world-class space-case and Mio has an unusual mastery of wrestling and boxing, but... okay, so they're odd too. Together with fellow residents such as Nano, the frequently modified robot of five-year-old genius the Professor, talking cat Sakamoto (that's Sakamoto-san to you!), and their own friend, the poker-faced lunatic Mai, they lead provincial lives that are perfectly mundane and thoroughly bizarre.

The traditional girls-only Yuihime Private Academy is considering the possibility of starting to accept both genders and has thus made an agreement with a neighboring school to receive some of its students as an experiment to see the reaction to this adaptation. Shingo Iryu is one of the many students transferred for a ten month experimental phase at Yuihime Academy. He, his sister, and his fellow relocated colleagues are impressed by the sophisticated campus, but even more by the resistance of many students who don't want the boys over there.

After saving a nearly drowned boy, Mermaid Princess Lucia of the North Pacific Ocean Kingdom leaves her magic pearl in his custody. Seven years later she takes on human form and with the help of her guardian penguin, Hippo attempts to find that boy and reclaim her magic pearl. When she first meets up with the boy, Kaito she thinks he is rude, but when he is threatened by the undersea villains she reclaims her pearl and transforms into Pink Pearl Voice and defeats the villain by singing at her. After the fight Lucia (in her mermaid form) holds Kaito in her arms like she did 7 years ago, and from there realized the feelings she has for him. But unfortunately for her, mermaids or not allowed to love humans. In order to stop the coming evil Lucia must revive the Aqua Goddess Regina. In order for this to be done she must find the other 6 Mermaid Princess.

While testing out his camera on a bridge one summer night, Kaito sees a blue light streaking across the sky, only to be blown off the railing seconds later. Just before succumbing to unconsciousness, a hand reaches down to grab ahold of his own. He woke up the next morning wondering how he ended up back in his own room with no injuries or any recollection of the night before. As he proceeds with his normal school life, Kaito and his friends discuss what to do with his camera, finally deciding to make a film with it over the summer break. Noticing that Kaito has an interest in the new upperclassmen Ichika Takatsuki, his friend Tetsurou decides to invite her, as well as her friend Remon Yamano, to join them in their project. In what becomes one of the most entertaining and exciting summers of their lives, Kaito and his friends find that their time spent together is not just about creating a film, but something much more meaningful that will force them to confront their true feelings.
