Shion finally manages to call out Ace and challenges him to a cardfight. While battling, Shion reveals all he has learned about Ace, including that the mastermind behind everything is Ryuzu Myoujin. But before Shion could get Ace to confess (to a hidden camera), a biker rides in and escapes with Ace. During the escape, Shion sees that Ace's true identity is Am.
The last game of the special match is Chrono vs. Kamui. Chrono intends to surpass Kamui, who acted as his mentor the whole time. On the other hand, Kamui wants to beat Chrono in order to prevent him from fighting Myoujin and from suffering a possibly horrible fate. Backstage, Shion and Tokoha confront Am and try to convince her to stop working for Myoujin, but Shouma Shinonome suddenly shows up before them. Upon revealing how he was involved in the Kiba takeover and thereby revealing his affiliation with Myoujin, Shion furiously starts pummeling Shouma. Kouji appears and stops Shion, and after some taunting from Shouma, he leaves with Am. As the cardfight between Chrono and Kamui reaches its climax, the countdown to GIRS Crisis begins.
Taiyou starts his rematch against Hiroki. Realizing how lonely Hiroki truly is and how he clings to his twisted sense of justice, Taiyou defeats Hiroki, who escapes with help from Wakamizu. Meanwhile, Am tells both Tokoha and Luna her reason for working with Ryuzu: to revive her comatose parents. She also tells them her role as Peacemaker, the one who will eventually open the Stride Gate. Although Am cuts off her ties of friendship with the two, Luna nonetheless wishes to stay by her side. Later that day, Chrono learns that Mikuru also knew that Rive was still alive but kept that secret from him. Appalled, he storms out of his home, and standing next to him is Ryuzu...

As the Crowds attack Tachikawa, the Gatchaman arrive and make the Crowds visible to normal humans, before working to capture them so that their users won't slip into comas. Joe, having lost confidence in himself, prepares to leave with the evacuees, but receives a message from Sugane, encouraging him to fight again. Aoba and an injured Noiz are ambushed by Morphine members when Clear appears and easily defeats them. When one of men tries to hurt Aoba, Clear violently beats the man up until Aoba stops him, allowing the Morphine member the chance to throw acid on Clear and escape. At their lodging, Clear refuses to remove his mask in front of Aoba, explaining his grandfather told him never show his face to anybody because it wasn't "normal" like other humans and is afraid that Aoba will hate him once he saw his face. Aoba assures Clear that he could never hate him and takes off his mask, revealing Clear's normal-looking face. Afterwards, Clear cooks for Aoba when strange music plays on the TV, causing Aoba immense pain. Clear explains that Toue uses the "Dye Music" song to brainwash people. Later, Clear questions Ren why he doesn't call Aoba "Master" even though he is just an Allmate, with Ren saying that he is only doing what Aoba wants from him.
After Hinata's funeral, Takemichi tells a grieving Naoto what he plans to do next. Why did the same future happen even though Draken remained by Mikey's side? Takemichi decides he wants to go see Draken and ask him himself, but they find out that he's no longer in Toman in this world and is on death row.
Shoko starts to get suspicious about Satou, and runs into Asahi passing out flyers. Satou says that she has to go to Mitsuboshi's place to deliver a notebook with a message from work, but when Mitsuboshi opens the notebook, he finds a message asking whether he wants her to let him see Shio.
Satou is holding a trash bag covered in blood. She tries to throw it away in the river, but senses someone nearby. The next day at school, the class president, Kitaumekawa, worries about Satou and tries to talk to her. Meanwhile, Asahi is handing out flyers around town looking for Shio.
Aoba wakes up in Scratch's hideout and quickly suffers a beating from Mink's men on his orders. As Aoba struggles to break free, his other personality briefly takes over and orders the Scratch members to stop before falling unconscious. When Aoba awakens safely in a bedroom with Ren and his bag, Mink states to Aoba that his aware of Aoba's special "voice" and will help him find Tae if Aoba obeys him in return. Although reluctant, Aoba agrees and heads back to his house, meeting up with Clear and Koujaku. Koujaku is distrustful of Mink since his group is made up of criminals, but relents once Aoba explains that Mink will help him find Tae. The group then discovers that Noiz is spying on them and recruits him to their mission. Despite some tension, the group is able to track down Tae's location and Clear guides them to an abandoned warehouse area. They are attack by hooded men, which turns out to be the missing members of Dry Juice.
Shio runs into Mitsuboshi on town at night, which reawakens memories of her painful past. Shio's father was abusive towards his wife. Shio sees an illusion of her mother, who tells her that she'll never forgive Shio. Shio passes out in a park, and thugs creep up around her.
