Kuzak decides that a private trial with a closeted judge is the best way to win to retain his gay client's multi-million dollar endorsement contract with a cereal manufacturer, but when the verdict goes against him, his client is unwilling to seek another trial based on an ex parte statement revealing the judge's bias because it will force the judge out of the closet; Perkins confronts Ringstrom after Kelsey tells her he's married, and ends the relationship after she fakes a reason to visit his house and meet his wife; Meyer and Melman separate after they arrive at directly opposite solutions to their marital problems, but reconcile after Melman is forced to acknowledge some hard truths during a therapy session; the lack of a good nanny brings Kelsey and Markowitz troubles, and their daughter to the office.

Ted meets with Julie to ask for her help in getting Richard to testify that the tape of the murder is authentic. When she refuses, Chris begins playing the tape. After viewing it for a few minutes, she tearfully agrees to help them. To be lucid enough to testify in court, Richard will need to take a drug which will also further weaken his immune system. In response to his initial resistance, Julie tells him that he owes it to her and Jessica, and he finally relents. Chris is approached by a man who represents a judge on the Court of Appeals who is willing to convince two other judges to overturn Neil's verdict and to get him released on bail immediately in return for $100,000. Chris refuses, telling him that the firm is not in the practice of bribery, to which Ted agrees when Chris fills him in about this encounter. Judge Bornstein grants Ted a hearing where he presents expert testimony that the tape has not been doctored. Richard takes the stand and testifies that he installed a video

Sergeant Esterhaus dies unexpectedly and the whole station house tries to deal with their grief as they eulogize the man. Meanwhile, Leo finds out his wife is cheating on him; Bates may get a unique promotion; Mrs. Furillo is mistakenly arrested for soliciting by a rookie; Sandy is raped.

Hill Street Blues - Season 2 - Episode 9

The Captain meets LaRue and Washington when he returns from a purse snatching; Renko (who has lost his service revolver) and Hill are rear-ended by a wedding party; Bates gets mad at Coffey when he stands her up for a breakfast date; Lou threatens again to remove his vending machines from the precinct house; Daniels tells Furillo to initiate a scam saloon in the South Ferry Precinct as a preemptive move against the corruption-seeking Sullivan Commission.

At the sentencing hearing, Neil still maintains his innocence, and is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Later, Neil is attacked in prison by a man with a knife, and is terrified for his life. Justine and Arnold try to convince Julie to reveal Richard's whereabouts. Eventually, she gives in and arranges a meeting where Richard tells Ted that the tape is in Richard's office safe. Ted takes the tape to his office, and everyone gathers around to watch it. They see Neil with Jessica and watch him leave while Jessica is still alive. Later, another person enters the room and Justine whispers, "Oh, my god!"

Andy tries to have dinner with Sylvia, but things keep coming up; eventually they get together.

#15 - Pilot

NYPD Blue - Season 1 - Episode 1

Sipowicz's continual harassment of Giardella winds up getting him in trouble. Fancy tells Kelly it may be time for a new partner. Sipowicz is brought up before IAB. Laura wants to process their divorce and the neighbor in apartment 4B, where a mugging has recently happened, is doing the paperwork. Sipowicz gets drunk and meets his lady friend and is shot by Giardella in the process. Kelly begins to apply pressure on the local Mafia to try to get them to give Giardella up. Janice and John begin to have a relationship. "4B" is mugged in the laundry room. Marino wants Janice to kill Kelly.

NYPD Blue - Season 1 - Episode 4

Kelly quits his security job and warns the abusive husband to watch out. A man is arrested for a robbery and double-homicide when Det. Walker is convinced he is guilty, though Sipowicz feels differently. Laura quits her job and plans to move into a position with the District Attorney's office, prosecuting narcotics. Kelly winds up at the scene of the abusive husband's murder. "4B" has Kelly come and appear before the tenant's readiness group, later the edgy "4B" is shot on a subway platform trying to save an elderly woman.

#17 - Parting is Such Sweep Sorrow

Hill Street Blues - Season 4 - Episode 16

A judge intent on elevating jail conditions releases the court's overflow back into the streets; Bates has a rocky start as roll call sergeant; another professional hit covers up the murder of Whitney Barnes; after his memorial service, Furillo follows Esterhaus' last wishes to scatter his ashes on the Hill.

Lastarza of the Organized Crime Unit tells Fancy & Kelly that they better stop applying pressure on the mob. Sipowicz regains consciousness but has no memory of the shooting. Laura and John become officially separated. "4B" begins to do his laundry every night with his gun in hopes of catching the attacker. Laura decides to join a private law firm. Angelo Marino puts pressure on Janice to kill Kelly; however, she kills him and his driver instead. Sipowicz returns to "active" desk duty and Lois turns up and helps to nail Giardella. Alfonse offers to give up all sorts of proof that will put him on easy street. A father takes a judge hostage, when he feels justice wasn't done for his dead son, Kelly talks him out of it. John and Janice talk about their relationship and Angelo Marino's death. "4B" shoots his mugger.

NYPD Blue - Season 1 - Episode 16

Medavoy suffers a stress-related anxiety attack after making into the station. Sipowicz looks into the robbery of a Vietnam veteran, who's confined to a wheelchair. Andy rejects a gift from Sylvia. John starts moonlighting as a bodyguard for his rich friend's girlfriend, but he catches her in the act of being unfaithful. When he confronts her, she tells him that she's being blackmailed, so Kelly meets the blackmailer and advises him not to do it again. Medavoy doesn't want to tell his wife about his problem, which displeases Donna, and he thinks he still may want a divorce. The wheelchair-bound veteran takes his mugger's hostage. Laura invites John out to dinner and tells him about her serious relationship. John is best man at an impromptu wedding.

Hill Street Blues - Season 2 - Episode 3

Hill and Renko handle a domestic call involving an old man threatening his neighbors with a shotgun; Hudson looks for the informer in his gang; and Joyce asks Furillo for advice about the Downey case.

NYPD Blue - Season 1 - Episode 17

LaSalle has a chance to move out of the precinct and into a more regular routine of detective work. A thirteen-year-old boy is shot. Sipowicz suspects a private investigator of bilking a father, for the past six months, in a scheme to find the man's daughter. Andy's also was looking for her for the past 2 1/2 years. The father of the murdered boy apprehends the killer, after he discovers the killer (whose injured LaSalle) has escaped from the precinct.

#22 - Zeppo Marks Brothers

NYPD Blue - Season 1 - Episode 18

Roberts meets with Kelly in search of getting some bodyguard work. A woman whose boyfriend was a material witness is afraid to identify the hit man because she's afraid she'll be next. Laura feels as though she's being stalked and while checking it out John gets to meet her new boyfriend. The hit man is identified, wired and sent to Riker's to get incriminating evidence against the brothers who hired him. While listening in, John hears that Laura was also an intended target. None of the detectives are too excited when Haverill sends them down to Times Square for uniform detail at a parade.

#23 - Chapter Nine

Murder One - Season 1 - Episode 9

This episode begins with Avedon meeting Hoffman in the law office. He had just received a letter from an obsessive fan, whom he had previously had to obtain a restraining order against. It said, that she had been the one who killed Jessica and Avedon's girlfriend had better stay away or she'd be next. The fan's name was Holly. Hoffman's wife visits the office, having heard a rumor that Franchesca Cross and he were having an affair. Hoffman, of course, denies this and later confronts Cross about it. He thinks Cross started the rumor so he wouldn't have to pay as much money in the divorce settlement. Hoffman and the law firm's private investigator visit the home of Holly, the deranged fan. She believes that she has a personal relationship with Neil Avedon. Later, Holly shows up in at the law office and claims that she really has to talk to Neil. Eventually, she pulls a gun on Hoffman (who remained in amazing professional composure throughout the whole incident). However, Neil plays along

#24 - Those Lips, That Eye

L.A. Law - Season 1 - Episode 2

Kuzak pursues a very attractive deputy district attorney, Grace Van Owen, even though she's engaged to marry the man managing her campaign for a seat on the bench; Perkins is beaten by her drunken husband after she files for divorce and sole custody of their son; Kelsey continues to clash with Brackman, as well as McKenzie, over the insurance case until her hardball tactics succeed in earning a windfall fee for the firm; Sifuentes comes to regret the plea agreement he negotiates for a man who took justice into his own hands after watching his son's killer freed on a technicality; Weston is infuriated when Becker sandbags her chance to be offered a position as an associate after he tires of their affair; Markowitz courts a hesitant Kelsey; feeling passed over for promotion by Sifuentes's hiring, Taylor quits; Perkins becomes the default winner of an associate position; Chaney's will brings out the beast in Brackman.

L.A. Law - Season 1 - Episode 3

Sifuentes is outraged when he learns that the motive behind an invitation to dinner at the Brackman house was to enlist his aid in perpetrating an immigration fraud; Kuzak continues to pursue Van Owen; Perkins is devastated when her ex-husband kidnaps their son, and quickly becomes frantic when it appears that the police cannot help her find him; Kuzak discovers that his client's suit against an amusement park for injuries his son suffered is based on a fraudulent claim; Markowitz fears that he will lose his job when he declines to run a scam on an alcoholic I.R.S. agent to mitigate his client's tax bill, but luck is on his side when the adverse I.R.S. ruling turns into a financial coup after his client's wife sues for divorce.

NYPD Blue - Season 1 - Episode 20

Janice gets promoted and will be working with the other detectives until she can be transferred to the re-organizing intelligence division. Kelly suspects that his friend is being framed for the murder of his mistress, even after his behavior in the squad room. Arthur's wife lets him know she is pregnant again; he is less than enthusiastic considering the complications of her previous pregnancy. Andy takes a sip of a drink at a birthday party for Sylvia's father and later he has more and then he throws her out of his apartment.
