George and Dorothy's nightly television viewing has been getting interupted by Hazel who's excuse is that her television set in her room is broken. This leads to George taking her down to the store to by her one, which is where she decides to get a color TV and quickly becomes the talk of the town.
Reuben and the Partridges stop off for a picnic on the way home as they unwind after several weeks on the road. At the picnic spot they meet Jenny, a free spirit, just traveling around and doing her thing. The Partridges strike up a friendship with Jenny and she goes home with them and stays for a few days. Jenny, however, is really very wealthy and before she hits the road again she leaves the Partridge family a bank book containing one million dollars! The kids are thrilled with this unexpected windfall but Shirley is skeptical and wants to return the gift. Shirley calls the police to have them find Jenny. The Partridges go to Marineland and talk to Dr. Whelander, who agrees that they should make a record â€“ to allow people to become aware of the plight of the whales so that maybe they'll do something to stop them from being slaughtered. He said that any profits Marineland receives will go to the New York Zoological Society, where they are working to save whales. Phyllis wants Tabitha to spend a weekend with her and Frank, but doesn't count on Samantha and Endora to be there also. They all start fighting and arguing until Tabitha turns herself into a cookie. Samantha convinces her daughter that she is not the cause of all of their arguments and wants her to turn back into a human.
Esmerelda is reading Mother Goose to Tabitha, and ends up sneezing up the real Mother Goose, Darrin’s mother comes by because of a marital spat she had with Frank.
