Mass pile-up on the highway. Semir examines the wrecked cars and finds a man's severed hand among the debris. The original owner can only be identified by the signet ring. This is the software expert Alexander von Rohloff. He actually works for the Japanese company "Nakamura Limited". Since André is ill, Semir is assigned the Yakuzza specialist Rebecca Herforth from the State Criminal Police Office as his partner for this case. Both are wondering whether the dead man was kidnapped and murdered. During their investigations they find out that von Rohloff stole valuable software from his company and wanted to blackmail his Japanese boss. During the investigation it turns out that his boss Toshiro Funaki has sent a group of ninjas after Rohloff and his girlfriend to solve the problem. Semir and Rebecca don't have much time left to prevent the worst.

Four serious criminals, led by Jan Rupert, rob a cash transporter on the highway and then flee into the forest on motorcycles. They hide the loot in a prepared hole in the ground and disguise themselves as hunters to evade the authorities. Tom Kranich, who is investigating the robbery, gets his hands on a video cassette on which the robbery was filmed. He notices the gangsters' military background, including a rare rifle, which leads to further investigations. While Semir is on vacation with Andrea, the gangsters stay in a log cabin by the lake, where Semir and Andrea also want to stay. At a chance meeting, Jan Rupert realizes that Semir is a policeman, which dramatically escalates the situation.

Semir and Tom are hunting the suspected murderer Rudolf Behrmann, a police officer who is said to have shot his partner Martin Fischer. Behrmann protests his innocence and takes hostages in the office. In a conversation with Semir, he gives him the task of tracking down a man named Jürgen Blaske. Blaske turns out to be an undercover investigator who provides information about drug embezzlement by SEK officers. But Blaske is shot, and Semir and Tom must now find the real murderers before it is too late.

The 18-year-old Sarah Schubert disappeared without a trace. Her father, Mathias Schubert, starts looking for her, which is actually not unusual for a father. But Mathias Schubert is a knacki and he only has two days off. So he has 48 hours to find his daughter. In Sarah's apartment, Schubert meets a young man who is about to remove traces of blood that are apparently connected to a murder case that Ben and Semir are currently investigating. They soon realize that the murder and Sarah's disappearance are connected. The search for Sarah leads both Schubert, Semir and Ben to Daniel Lindlaub, who runs a dangerous human trafficking ring: young women are selected online, then kidnapped and sold to rich customers abroad. The Autobahncops and Schubert have little time to find Sarah before she - together with other women - is to be taken out of the country.
