Serving a Maid Café with the Yamai twins employed, Shido (as Shiori again) even hands out posters as the head maid when he and Miku come across and ask "her" to date her though Shiori still annoyed of Miku's arrogance. Shido then finds the bandmates were manipulated and will not perform for the concert. Fraxinus cuts the stage's power to slow things down, but Miku gets the advantage with her Astral Dress. The AST led by Jessica target the Tengu Square until Ryōko and Origami piloting the “White Licorice” interfere. Kaguya and Yuzuru as they are professional, backup Tohka and Shido to perform as best as they could regardless of outside interference.

As the score results for the annual contest comes in, even though Miku won the best performance, the support of Raizen's Maid Café earns Shido enough declare winner. Depress and refusing to accept Shiori's friendship, Miku unleashes her angel Solo brainwashing the crowd, except Tohka, and hold down Shiori. But then Miku finds out Shiori is a guy leading her totally shock. To make matters worse, Fraxinus and Kotori fallen under Miku's control too, and Ellen abducts Tohka. Shido manages to escape, however, he is now a fugitive in the city. Thought-out the disturbance, Shido meets Kurumi and begs her to help him. Tohka awakens in the DEM facility restrained.

Shido invites Kurumi out but is forced on a polygamous date when Tohka seduces him and Origami forces her plans upon him for a date. Shido is unable to deny any of them as Tohka would be heartbroken, Origami would be suspicious and his plans to seal Kurumi depend on the date. With their dates occurring around the same time and their entertainment venues located rather close to each other, Ratatoskr assists Shido by teleporting him to each girl's location while monitoring their emotional levels. After Shido leaves Kurumi, she finds some boys shooting at a stray cat and convinces them to let her play with them. Ratatoskr loses sight of Kurumi as Origami and Tohka run into each other. After they both proclaim their trying to find Shido for their date, Origami runs off concerned there may be another.

Mana is having a 10v1 practice match against Origami's unit before having introduced herself at the briefing AST's previous battle with Hermit where she unknowingly reveal's herself to be Shido's sister. Kurumi transfers into Shido's class revealing herself to be a Spirit to get closer with Shido. During her time touring the school with Shido they're followed by Origami and Tohka, but as Shido is attempting to seduce Kurumi she is also attempting to do the same to Shido. After school, Kurumi kills three humans and is confronted by Mana. Mana then runs into Shido later on that day. Taking her to his house, what Mana shares about herself leads to a quarrel between her and Kotori but ultimately leaves everyone with more questions than answers.

#10 - Frenzied Nightmare

Date A Live - Season 1 - Episode 9

Mana kills Kurumi and explains everything to Shido. After he is forced away, he avoids Origami and Tohka after running into them because of seeing the death Kurumi caused. Tohka finds out the reason for Shido's behavior and continues her date with him to try to cheer him up. After gaining some insight to Kurumi, the next day Shido declares to Kurumi that he'll save her. Kurumi goes to the school rooftop while encasing the school in her field to dissuade Shido from trying to save her. Mana is confronting Kotori about Ratatoskr and attempting to use it as leverage against Kotori so she'll release Shido from the potential danger he's in. While Kurumi is threatening the school and the town, Origami and Tohka are engaging in battles with other copies of Kurumi. Shido convinces Kurumi only for her to be killed by another Kurumi.

A girl named Rin Shima comes to a campsite in Motosuko, facing opposite Mount Fuji, to spend the day camping. While setting up a campfire, Rin notices a peculiar girl sleeping by the public restroom, but thinks nothing of it. Later on in the night, Rin once again comes across the girl, Nadeshiko Kagamihara, who had gotten herself lost after just moving to a new house, and shares her curry noodles with her before they both get a clear view of Mount Fuji. After eventually managing to get her sister to pick her up, Nadeshiko leaves Rin with her phone number in the hopes of camping with her once again. A few days later, Nadeshiko begins attending her new school, which Rin also attends.

Meanwhile, Chiaki is visiting Lake Shibileko when she encounters a man grilling steak in a skillet, who offers her part of it. Rin and Nadeshiko are driven by the latter's sister to the lake.

Rin struggles to ignite the coals in the mini-grill, so Nadeshiko visits a nearby camp for advice. She meets a pair of siblings consisting of a brother and his drunk sister; the brother offers input and new coal for use. After cooking the meat, the two head back to the siblings' campground to give them plates of food as thanks, receiving jambalaya in return. That evening, Rin leaves her tent and encounters a silhouette of a beastly creature, prompting her to run off. As it turns out, the still-inebriated sister had stumbled upon their campsite.

Emilia implores Anos to act respectfully to Ivis, but without hesitation, he speaks to Ivis in a condescending tone.

Nadeshiko plans to go camping with Rin, but catches a cold the night before and has to stay at home. As such, Rin decides to go on her own to a campsite at Ina, and attempts to take a detour to get there, but finds out that the road is closed. After meeting some mountain climbers, she lets Nadeshiko and Chiaki decide where she goes next, and visits a temple and a hot spring before eating at a restaurant and oversleeping. Meanwhile, Chiaki visits Nadeshiko at home and cooks houtou for her family.

The misfit crushes the tragedy and unjust fate that binds the two sisters.

Shortly after Anos' encounter with Misha and Sasha as well as his battle with Ivis, a transfer student named Ray enters the Demon Academy. As the Master of Magic Sword and powerful enough to defeat the Seven Elder Demon Emperors, Ray makes it clear that he wants to join a team with a capable leader, and requests to join Anos' team. However, Anos refuses and proposes to Ray that, "If you prove that you are worthy, I will allow you to become one of my followers." Ray decides to form his own team and battles head-to-head with Team Anos during the team competition exam.

Nadeshiko, Chiaki, and Aoi plan their Christmas camping trip and invite Rin, who initially refuses before being convinced by Ena to accept. Toba, the new teacher, is unintentionally lured into becoming the Outdoor Activities Club advisor and is invited to the Christmas camp. Upon hearing Toba mention bringing beer along, Nadeshiko realizes she was the drunk sister from the Lake Shibire trip.

In recognition of their accomplishments in the team competition exam, Anos welcomes Lay and Misa to his team. The team gathers at Anos' home to celebrate, but shortly after, Lay and Anos are announced as participants in the Magic Sword Tournament. Lay rejoices at the chance for a rematch with Anos, but Anos suspects that there is an ulterior motive. The situation escalates when Misa takes Anos to meet one of the Seven Elder Demon Emperors, Melheis Boran.

Chiaki and Aoi check in at the Asagiri Plateau campsite while Toba sets up her grill and starts drinking. While the two eat at a nearby restaurant, Rin prepares her tent and Nadeshiko shows up shortly after. The four purchase firewood and return to Toba's table, where she has fallen asleep as Ena and her dog Chikuwa arrive. The campers and Chikuwa spend the afternoon playing frisbee with other kids before going their separate ways. At night, Aoi cooks sukiyaki for the group. When their stove runs out of gas, Rin leaves to buy more. She remembers Ena's comments about how fun a group camping trip would be, to which she smiles.

Anos and Lay battle head-to-head at the Dilhade Magic Sword Tournament finals. With Sheila being taken hostage, the two are unable to fight at their full potential and come to a decision. Just as the showdown reaches its climax, a huge Magic Circle appears in the arena. The scenery around Anos and Lay begins to distort, and they are taken into an alternate dimension. The mastermind behind the recent events finally reveals his true identity.

After the Magic Sword Tournament, Anos and the other students visit Azeshion in the Human Realm for an educational exchange with the Hero Academy. While they individually explore the city, Anos heads to the Hero Academy saying that he wants to research something. The academy is off-limits to outsiders, but without hesitation, he tries to make his way inside. Eleanor Bianca, a third-year student at the Hero Academy, appears before Anos and says, "You'll be safe as long as you're with me" with a mischievous smile. She acts as Anos' guide inside the academy.

Nadeshiko tells the group what she expects them to be like in ten years when Rin returns. After bathing, the campers enjoy various movies and shows on a tablet Chiaki had brought along until they decide to call it a night. Under the stars, Rin and Nadeshiko talk about their plans for the new year before going to sleep. The next morning, the two cook breakfast and watch the Sun rise behind Mount Fuji. Rin returns to her job at a bookstore, while Nadeshiko continues pondering about getting one of her own to afford camping equipment. Ena texts her about a job opportunity delivering New Year's cards, which she accepts. In the epilogue, Nadeshiko returns to Motosuko to solo camp when she receives a message from Rin, who also happens to be doing the same. Nadeshiko proposes sending photos of their respective campsites to one another; after seeing herself in Rin's picture, she turns around and realizes they will be camping at the same location.

Anos and the students from the Demon King Academy participate in their first day of inter-academy exchange with the Hero Academy. However, the students from the Demon King Academy soon find out that the inter-academy exchange is in name only, and they are met with outright hostility. Revest, a third-year student at the top of his class from the Demon King Academy is ridiculed by the students from the Hero Academy when he unsuccessfully tries to activate a magic spell. The students from the Demon King Academy are visibly offended by this treatment, but Anos's words turn the tables. "As usual, humans sure like to set traps for us, don't they?" The inter-academy exchange is off to an ominous start.

However, due to a magic barrier called De Igelia that is cast over the entire city, and a young girl named Zeshia who wields the holy sword Enhale, Anos' attacks prove to be futile. Anos and his team are unable to come up with their next strategy, but Misha proposes a plan that could help them win.
