Ship 42 scopes out area where ships have vanished. Upon scanning the planet, they detect large amounts of technology on the planet, but upon landing it seems quite barren. Flying manta-like shriekers attack Team Lightyear's technology, leaving them stranded and defenseless. Roaming the countryside, they encounter a man named Flint who runs a town of castaways from spaceship-wrecks. Upon investigation, Flint turns out to be a renegade work robot (gamma series construction robot), who built the robotic shriekers in order to strand organics on the planet, so that he could order THEM around as revenge for his time spent in forced labor (...as a stock-boy...). Team Lightyear shut down the subterranean shrieker construction plant that Flint had built, and defeat Flint, freeing the hapless castaways.

However, when he gets to her lab, he finds her under attack by a monstrous man who deems himself Kraven the Hunter. Spider-Man leads Crawford away from Kraven to the roofs. There, Crawford tells Spider-Man that Kraven was not always that way, that in fact she loved him as Sergei Kravenoff. Crawford tells of an accident years back that would have killed Sergei had she not used a dangerous potion that saved his life and gave him the strength and instinct of an animal, but turned him mad. Meanwhile, while looking for Crawford at her apartment, Kraven learns of her connection to Robbie and kidnaps him. He then threatens to kill Robbie if Spider-Man does not come to him with Crawford.

Then, Jeu-Lin invites Jade in so she will not change into the beast. Jeu-Lin explains she read every scroll and was looking for a certain scroll to tell of how a real sorceror escaped long ago. Meanwhile, Jackie and the old man find the Lotus Temple. Shu Len transforms and chases Jackie. The old man goes on ... Jade comes and tells Jeu-Lin to invite Jackie, so she does and they go after the man. The old man was just using Jacki

An electrical storm shorts out their Stargate while Gus and Ec'co get taken into custody by the hostile Hrathi, who know of Gus' alleged betrayal. The rest of the team rig a way to recharge the Stargate using lightning while the Tlak'khan launch an attack on the Hrathi. Gus helps to drive them off and then are taken to a cache of data crystals. It turns out the crystals are a fake, but one of the Hrathi reveals he is a shapeshifter. Gus and Ec'co pass the test and receive the real Tlak'khan data crystal they need.
