The animated short film collection Yao-Chinese Folktales comprises eight independent stories rooted in traditional Chinese culture: The Little Monster's Summer, Goose, Goose, Goose, Linlin, The Country Bus Takes Away Wang Hai'er and the Immortal, Xiaoman, Birds and Fish, The Convenience Store, and The Jade Rabbit. These stories span the past and present, and look towards the future, ranging from nostalgia for rural life to technological fantasy, from fundamental themes of life to reflections on humanity, showcasing Chinese imagination and embodying Chinese national culture and philosophy.
