Eighteen losers who have made their mark on the Big Red Balls over the last three series return to the purpose-built course in Argentina to face their fears and try once again to conquer the daftest obstacles in the world. Richard Hammond hosts, incredulous that they are back once again, while Amanda Byram is course-side, stifling her giggles.

The Qualifier sees the welcome return of the Big Red Balls, as well as fresh challenges such as the Ring-a-Dings - a set of tyre-like obstacles that turn even the average solicitor into a contortionist! The Motivator provides a little help for those feeling reluctant to throw themselves of the edge, and the Dodgeball Boys provide added impetus in the form of wet foam bullets on Dizzy Dummies. Each programme culminates in the Wipeout Zone where things get really competitive in order to win the prize and a lifetime of respect. Richard Hammond and co-host Amanda Byram return to guide 20 foolhardy Brits through the biggest and daftest obstacle course in the universe. From giant hammers that smack them in the face to the Shapeshifter, via the Big Red Balls, each contestant braves the Qualifier to attempt qualification for Double Cross. From there, the field is halved and those 'lucky' enough to make it through to Terror-Go-Round face it head-on in an effort to get to the Wipeout Zone. Darkness, raging torrents and fire bursts lie between the finalists and the chance of winning ten thousand pounds. Who will get their hands on the coveted Total Wipeout trophy?
