In Northern Sweden, 1852, a new pastor and his family arrive in Kengis, a village riddled with disorder. The Pastor wants to improve the community, but many of the villagers are opposed to change. When a series of grisly murders occur, the Pastor and his Sami foster-son, Jussi, investigate, but are hindered by the ruling elite in the village. Tensions escalate, loyalties are tested, and the Pastor is forced to protect his family whilst hunting down a killer who is not stopping.
