Ira, a two year-old Labrador is fitted with a bionic spine. Eight-year-old French Bulldog Tom has been brought in by his anxious owner Rob with a long list of chronic ailments. And Matt and Rebecca come to the clinic with their three year-old cat Marley, whose leg may have to be amputated.

Noel meets Lara the cat, who jumped into a removal van and went missing; got hit by a car and then attacked by a fox. And there's Chief, a husky in need of a hip replacement. But his owner can't afford to pay. And Bertie, a 12-year-old spaniel, is going lame and needs his ruptured ligaments to be fixed.

A ten-month-old Labrador needs a hip replacement before he can begin his training as a medical alert dog to help his owner with her rare health condition. And Emily, an eight-year-old shih-tzu from Bognor Regis, needs an operation to fix her spine which is extremely risky, presenting her owners with an agonising decision.
