Ryōma Echizen is a rather arrogant twelve-year-old teenager who does not have very good personal relationships with others. He used to live with his family in the United States, but after arriving in Japan (his father's native country), he must learn to adapt to his new life at Seishun Gakuen High School, where he enrolls at the "Seigaku" tennis club.
