Captain Wiktor Rebrow tries to unravel the bombing, which killed his friends from the Border Guard in the Bieszczady Mountains.

During the search of Natalia's murder scene, Dobosz finds Rebrow's lighter. Later, in Kalita's hiding place she finds the gun which was used to shoot Kosowski and Ewa, and also a Rebrow's blood stained shirt. Kalita and Rebrow are arrested.

Natalia's funeral is staged in Warsaw. Rebrow asks for a meeting with DA Dobosz and confesses to killing Natalia. During the inspection at the crime scene, Rebrow flees. The police and Border Guard officers set off on a chase.
