College student Kazuya Kinoshita is left heartbroken after his cheerful girlfriend, Mami Nanami, suddenly dumps him. To cope, he hires a rental girlfriend, Chizuru Mizuhara, through an app. Though her charm wins him over, Kazuya later suspects it was all an act and gives her a poor rating. Chizuru angrily confronts him, revealing her true, fiery personality. Their argument is interrupted when Kazuya learns his grandmother has collapsed. At the hospital, she recovers quickly but mistakes Chizuru for his real girlfriend. On impulse, Kazuya confirms it, dragging Chizuru into a fake relationship.
