After 17 years in captivity, Israeli soldiers Nimrode Klein, Uri Zach, and Amiel Ben Horin return home to the country that made them national icons. They work to overcome the trauma of torture and captivity while settling back into their interrupted family lives. Meanwhile, the military psychiatrist assigned to them finds discrepancies in the soldiers' testimonies, and launches an investigation to discover what they are hiding. The show was sold to 20th Century Fox Television and adapted into the acclaimed series Homeland for cable channel Showtime in the United States.

The mystery of the picture of the man on the shore with his two children, which hangs both in the villa at Jabaliya and at the home in Al Ajar village, continues to trouble Uri, who is ordered by Haim Cohen to investigate the matter with Iris. Across the border, this same picture consoles Yussuf. He's being followed by Abdullah, who's closing in on his secret drop-off spot, and his wife, who's looking into details from his past. Nimrode struggles with adapting to his new life, both economically, when he cannot afford to buy himself new clothes, and socially, when he’s invited over to a dinner party at Michaela's.

Meanwhile, Nurit leaves her home and moves into a new apartment with Uri, while Nimrode comes to a decision regarding his relationship with Talia.

Yael Ben Horins belongings are stolen from storage.

After meeting Yinon, and trying to put the past behind her, Yael packs up all of Amiel’s things and puts them in storage. Haim Cohen interrogates the matter of Amiel, which is full of twists and turns and involves another Mossad agent. Meanwhile, Yussuf and Abdullah head out to handle an arms deal, which Abdullah nearly blows.
