A monk, Brother Giacomo, promised to reveal a secret about his mother. Upon his arrival, David learns that the monk is dead, while strange events begin to disturb the village's icy routine: the discovery of a human ear, then that of a corpse mimicking a Van Gogh self-portrait. To the despair of the local gendarme, Sergeant Louvetot, David inserts himself into the investigation, concocting theories worthy of his novels. Could a serial killer be hiding… in Mouthe?
