Set in modern day London, the story takes place in a world where "Shadows" are born from human fear and anxiety. A young girl arrives to study abroad, only to be caught in a bizarre incident as she enters university. In a city with no acquaintances, the helpless girl wanders into "Café Forbidden," a mysterious café that exclusively opens at midnight. She meets an assortment of handsome men employed at the café, where guardians who protect the boundary between humans and shadow convene.

Ton and Shinyao are reunited. They attempt to return to the cafe, but instead are confined within the room. They're able to escape with Wayne's help, but he becomes trapped inside a computer by the developer of the Magic Mirror app. While Vlad and Helsing are fighting, Haysin appears before Ton and Shinyao. Haysin claims to be the mastermind behind the series of events and commands an Umbra to attack her. When Ton sees Shinyao fall from the building, the shock causes her to lose control over the power in her ring.

#12 - Midnight Sun

Thanks to Wayne, the members of the Cafe successfully determine Shinyao's location, but Midnight Sun, the Umbra extermination organization led by Van Helsing XIII, capture Shinyao and Chris first. Ton and her friends fail to rescue Shinyao again. However, Helsing tells Ton he will return Shinyao to her if she accepts his conditions: cease all contact with Umbra and forget about the incident.
