Carola and Marcel make plans for their departure to France. Tim and Dina decide to take Nina in so that she can go back to her old school and that takes some getting used to for everyone. Lieke turns out to have a venereal disease and Merel bumps into social lawyer Maarten, who offers her a job. The bond between Sammie and Chris becomes stronger and Erik meets a nice woman in the bookstore. Merel has a disastrous Tinder date and Nina betrays Pip's biggest secret.

Bob, who comes to renovate the bathroom in the new house, falls in love with Hansje. Nina feels at home with Tim and Dina and is increasingly having trouble with Mees's drug use. Tim starts teaching at Hugo de Groot and Marcel and Carola see the camping adventure go up in smoke. Fabie bumps into her brother-in-law, Erik goes crazy over Gwen and Chris doesn't know what to do with his feelings for Sammie. Merel tells her daughters that she has decided to stop drinking and Lieke announces that she is quitting her studies.

Nina and Pip no longer talk to each other. Chris helps Sammie to convince the school management that there should be gender-neutral toilets. Lieke's studies are not going well and the rehabilitation doctor urges Carola to keep taking it easy. Because Lodewijk cannot make it on his own, he temporarily moves in with Erik and Chris. Mees starts smoking more and more and John and Ingrid are having a hard time with the intended departure of Carola and Marcel. Merel is completely distraught when she hears that Erik is having dinner with Hannah.

Merel has moved and is meeting her new neighbors. Because Carola and Marcel are in France, Danny is staying with his grandparents. Erik is stunned when his sister Gwen suddenly shows up. Because it doesn't really work with applying for jobs, Merel decides to do a job for Maarten. Mees' drug use spirals out of control and causes arguments and tension between him and Fabie. And there is also an outburst between Merel and Erik when Merel has drunk way too much again.

All families make holiday plans, but that doesn't happen without a hitch. Max announces that he can go to Dubai with his host family and Mees refuses to go to his father in Norway. And when Lieke announces that she doesn't want to go on holiday with Merel, Hansje no longer wants to go either. Carola persuades Marcel and Danny to go to France for two weeks. Things are not going well between Fabie and Tarik and Mees receives bad news.

#6 - Back to the future
Season 3 - Episode 10 - Aired 6/2/2021
Erik waves goodbye to his sister in relief. Because there is no country to sail with Mees, Fabie decides to send him to his father in Norway. Lieke goes crazy about her mother and moves in with Erik for the time being. Maarten declares his love for Merel and things are going well between Bob and Hansje. Carola and Marcel see light on the horizon again and are considering starting a beach club and Chris and Sammie are also making plans for the future. When Merel has a glass of wine for the first time at a party at the neighbors, things get completely out of hand.

#7 - In vuur en vlam
Season 3 - Episode 9 - Aired 5/26/2021
Because Lieke has stopped studying, she has to leave her room and live at home again. Mees can no longer be maintained and Fabie is at her wits' end. If Nina also breaks up with her, Mees will completely collapse. It takes Merel great effort to keep away from alcohol, but Maarten helps her and the bond between them grows. Marcel is depressed now that the move to France is canceled and there is a big argument between him and Carola. Dina and Tim notice that Max and Nina are starting to grow fond of each other.

Because Hansje is on a cycling holiday with Chris and Erik, Merel is home alone for her birthday. Dina, Tim are having a great time at the campsite with Max and Bram. The holiday does not turn out so well for the Metsers family, but when they see a campsite for sale on the last day, Marcel's heart starts to beat faster. Pip goes to Norway and things go terribly wrong between Fabie and Tarik during a romantic weekend away. Merel resigns from the Public Prosecution Service after a heated conflict.

Lieke puts herself out there and spends little time on her studies. Merel clears out the house and looks for a new job. Chris gets a new classmate, Sammie, with whom he gets along well and Hansje is deeply indignant when she hears that Merel has fired Mauro. Erik and Chris have moved, but Lodewijk still needs a lot of help and attention. Pip is worried when Nina tells her that she is no longer going to school and Dina becomes deputy vice-principal at Hugo de Groot College.

Merel is working on selling the house. Erik and Chris have moved in with Lodewijk for the time being, who has not become more cheerful since Claire departed. Mees struggles with his exams and Lieke, to her great relief, moves to a student house. Dina and Tim miss Max, who is only home on weekends and Pip has to get used to the fact that her best friend is suddenly dating her brother.
