Vincent, a 20-year old geology student from Paris, goes to French Guyana to do an internship at a gold mining company. Taken under the wing of local gold lord Antoine Serra, Vincent quickly falls into the much more lucrative and dangerous world of gold trafficking. From Serra, who acts like a father to him, Vincent learns everything there is to know about the business. Newcomers aren't welcome - Louis, Serra's right hand, makes it clear that he does not trust him. Vincent and Serra start building a camp to explore a gold mine, but tensions rise to a full-fledged war between them and their Brazilian competitors. And things get even more complicated when Vincent discovers that the mythical Sarah Bernhard mine is not a legend. The Guyanese jungle is a world where businessmen, gangsters, geologists and soldiers collide, and men kill and are killed for a few grams of the precious metal.

Vincent Ogier, a student at the École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris, is sent to Guyana for a ten-month internship to prospect in the forest in search of gold, with his internship supervisor Merlot for the benefit of the company Cayenorn. Merlot discovers a very promising site and decides to resell the coordinates to Serra, notorious kingpin of Guyanese gold, in order to ensure a quiet life, being suffering from an incurable cancer. But all will not go as planned and young Vincent will then find himself plunged into the tumults of illegal gold panning, thus discovering a harsh reality ...

Vincent Ogier, a geology student, drives Serra in the exploitation of the legendary Sarah Bernhardt mine. He will become a true adventurer, in the heart of the Guyanese forest, under the safety of Antoine Serra, the godfather of gold played by Olivier Rabourdin. There is gold. Lots of gold. But how to dispose of it? The student has passed the master and Vincent is ready to forge improbable alliances with local traffickers, Brazilian, Surinamese or Guyanese. But the mine is on the sacred territory of the Wayana Indians who will revolt. The opportunity for Vincent to discover an ignored world struggling for its survival.
