"Good Bones'' follows the blueprint of several series on HGTV or DIY Network that showcase revitalization specialists who turn rundown homes into stunning remodels. In this case, it's mother/daughter duo Karen Jensen and Mina Starsiak transforming properties in and around their hometown of Indianapolis. Karen's legal background and Mina's real estate knowledge help them secure diamonds in the rough, and then they enlist demo and construction help from family to get the houses done on time and on budget.


#2 - A Condo Brings Family Together

#5 - Wide Open Spaces

The next home renovation project for Mina and Karen is far from a flip. They're venturing out of downtown Indianapolis and into the countryside to do a home renovation for new clients Mike and Karen. The couple has a big family but a house that feels very closed-off, and they want help opening it up. Part of Mina and Karen's plan is to add sliding glass doors and big windows to bring in more natural light. Just four weeks later, they're excited to invite the couple back into their new open concept home that feels far more spacious.

#6 - Decaying Duplex Gets a Transformation

Mina and Karen snag a four-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex for only $4,000. But with one of the worst foundations they've ever seen combined with unsafe floor joists on the second floor, Mina expects to spend upwards of $200,000 on the renovation. They hope that their attention to detail in the beautifully finished single-family home will pay off.

Plus, it's in a new neighborhood for them, which adds to the risk. With the help of the demo crew, Mina and Karen plan to open up this little house and create 3.5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. They give it a rustic, schoolhouse style by adding grayish wood flooring and two amazing antique farmhouse sinks. From the very beginning, Mina and Karen run into issues with this little brick house and are forced to constantly adjust their budget. But when a problem leads to an order from the city, the women worry that they won't be able to finish the house before their budget runs out.

Mina and Karen take on the renovation of a century-old duplex in Indianapolis, Indiana. They decide to keep both units separate and begin the renovation with the North side townhome. With a budget of $150,000 they create an open-concept living space on the main floor and add a second full bathroom for maximum functionality. A bright white kitchen, sleek tile and exposed duct work completes the team's modern vision.
