Philomena Cunk (from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe) knows absolutely nothing about anything, but that won't stop her attempting to present a ground-breaking documentary about it. In the first special, she looks at William Shakespeare. Philomena said: "A bit like the tooth fairy, nobody's actually seen Shakespeare, and nobody knows if he's real or just made up for kids. So I'll be talking to some expert people to try and find out more about him and his films." In the second special, Philomena looks at Christmas. On her festive mission she aims to track down the true meaning of Christmas, and find out "exactly what it is he wants."
Philomena takes us right back to the beginning with the Big Bang and interviews Robert Peston about British politics.
In episode four, Philomena and Mark Lawson examine the first half of the 20th century, with two world wars but no world cup
Philomena explores The Tudors, The Georgians and the English Civil War, King Henry VIII and his chronic addiction to wives, Will.i.am Shakespeare, Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins and Lord Horatio Nelson
Philomena examines the Victorians and is joined by Chris Packham who tries to shed some light on Darwin's discoveries.
In the final episode, Cunk has made it to the 21st century and Brexit.
